New style direction

I am changing. I tried on a new silhouette inspired by a Danish TV show (as posted yesterday) and it may be giving rise to a new style direction. I want comfort to come higher on the list of priorities.

One formula could be this:

cropped bottoms
+ cutesy shoes
+ "cool" tee, that is to say a kind of droopy slightly oversize tee in a soft material with subtle print
+ superposed dainty chains
+ fitted topper and hair loosely up.

Acceptable or frumpy?
Do you like more 1 or 2-3?

Love #1. #2 could be good with a different top, it needs to hit you at a higher point on the leg. Try with the jacket open.

Thumbs up on these looks and your new direction. I agree the second top could be shorter, but I really like the contrast of the dainty okalas (or similar) with the cargo crops and they bookend your hair beautifully.

1 looks done.

2-3 needs tweaking. Something about the contrast between the pants and Okalas is bothering me, although I generally enjoy mixed levels of formality. (Perhaps it's just that Dicte does so much running around in that show, that I can't fully imagine that character in these shoes?)

Love 1. Ultra cool. 2-3 is also good, but I'm thinking either the jacket or the Okalas...just one polished piece...

1 agree about 2 I think it's the top not the jacket. I want a different color and length.

I like 1 best. When looking at 2/3, "quirky " came to mind. If that is what you are after, then 2/3 is your outfit. Either way, you look cute.

I prefer 1 over 2-3; to me it looks more cohesive and effortless. I think Rachylou's point is a good one--I might prefer one polished piece rather than two, with the super casual looking pants. (The ties on the legs of the pants in 2 seem significant to me; they look a lot more casual--or soemthing? maybe quirky?--than the pants in 1.) I'm liking your new style direction, in any event. It is fun to see you experimenting on the Dicte-inspired look.

I like 1 a lot. It is casual but polished. I think the top half of 2 would work with a slightly more streamlined pant. I think the ties and pockets kind of skew too casual for that topper. Btw, I wore a Dichte inspired out fit today too

I also think 1 has great potential. Since I strive for balance between comfort and individual expression, I'm really looking forward to seeing your new direction evolve.

I love your new style direction! It's really suiting you Krish. I agree with Kellygirl about the pants in #2 I think the ties do make them skew a touch too casual for the jacket, so maybe tweak that look a little. I love how the Okalas bookend your hair.

#1 is a no brainer - great combination. But I'll be the outlier here and say I really REALLY like the second outfit. I adore juxtaposition in an outfit and so really like the combination of the polished blazer and dressy/dainty shoe with the cargo pants.

I'm liking this style direction you're looking at Krish and am looking forward to seeing more

Amy K., these Okalas are surprisingly comfortable! Although I admit, for hard core action movie activities it might be stretching it.
Amy and Firecracker, You made me realize that maybe it's the combination of both pull string hem AND ankle straps that is too much.

Joy, so useful to put a word on something and your comment is the proof. "quirky" was precisely what attracted me when I originally got those cargos from Roots in 2011, although I couldn't quite formulate it then. I had been living abroad in a House-Of-Cardish context, now starved for anything offbeat, artsy, yet sporty... but a voice inside was telling me (yelling) "these are WRONG for your shape".Nonetheless I got them, tried to wear them with flats for a while, and now it's being taken out of its storage blue bin every summer, put in a drawer and never worn. You are so correct in your assessment: they are quirky, that's their appeal. Except... now I don't know if I want to be quirky in that way anymore... lol!
Ok Kellygirl, Diane, you help me see better into that second outfit: bottom being too casual. And BTW I want to see you in a Dicte inspired outfit!
Shannon, I think we are sisters at heart, because we both love a certain disconnected aesthetic and we both like to apply it to sporty pieces contrasted with more conservative ones. You do it so well!Thank you for your input.

These are both great! The only thing I would change are the nude shoes in 2-3. With a dark outfit, I'd need a dark shoe for balance, but maybe that's just me.
