New Specs...Part 2 - YouLookFab Forum

The last time I posted about getting some new specs, all of you helped me pick the right shape. As a reminder, photo 1 is the winning pair. Now for the color. Unfortunately, there weren't any other colors available in that frame to try on, but many colors are available for special order. For each color, they have a small frame that you can "try on," and that is what you see in the remaining photos. The black and white and dark red have a bit of a striated pattern also. The last pair is the same line of frames, but the dark brown and turquoise combination. I can order this color too, but I didn't want anymore brown frames really. The SA really liked them, so I took the photo. So, which color would be best?

Photo 1 - wining frames
Photo 2 - black and white
Photo 3 - dark blue
Photo 4 - bright red
Photo 5 - dark red
Photo 6 - dark brown/turquoise

I love red glasses on other people ... but on me they make me feel self-conscious any time my skin is even the slightest bit off. If this isn't a worry for you, I vote red!

Blue or dark red! I also like the bright red, but can imagine getting tired of them a bit faster.

PS: I love how your wore a neutral top to this appointment.

Dark red or the black/white ones in #2.

Although the bright red is tempting, I can't shake the image of Sally Jesse Raphael (80s talk show queen).

Really like the dark blue or the dark red.

There is not a single color here that does not look good on you (IMO)! I think it all depends on your personality and what you want to say with your style. Some are more subtle and the striated or red ones speak a bit louder. I can't wait to see what you decide!

Well, so far, it looks like the dark red and dark blue are in the lead! Thank you for your help, and I can't remember if I purposely wore something neutral. Glad that worked!

Anne - that is so funny! I don't think I will be able to look at bright red specs the same ever again! I had completely forgotten about SJR and her glasses!

I like the bright red best! But not for every day.

So for everyday, I vote dark red too

I love the bright red, but am sooooo reminded of Sally Jesse Raphael as Anne said above. So dark red would be my choice.

Thank you deb, Angie, Thistle, and everyone else! I was kind of partial to the bright red, too, actually, but I thought I would get tired of them pretty quickly. And I was worried aout their versatility, not to mention the SJR effect. My next favorite was the dark red. I like the dark blue, but IRL they are pretty uninspiring. I might try to find some other frames in a blue option after I've got these and wear them for a while.

Because these are completely custom-order, they take about 4 weeks to get back. I'll chime back in again to show the final result.

Specs shopping is quite challenging, but with all of your help, it became a complete breeze!

love the red...although i see the sara jessy raphael too.

the last pair are so severe but so hipster that i am drawn to them. BUT they are too heavy for your face color and features.
