New specs. Time for new hair? ETA hair inspiration pics at end.

I recently updated my glasses. I wear them most of the time. I was guided by the optometrist assistant, who steered me away from the olive and orange frames to these more conservative gold ones. I always say i will take more time choosing frames, as I wear them daily and they are so expensive, then do it in a rush anyway.
So, with a slightly new look, I wonder if I should do something different with my hair. I would like to colour it less, that might mean going really short. ...could that work for my face shape?
Boy, it's hard to take a photo with glasses!
Any ideas and opinions appreciated.
ETA pic 4 of old specs and haircut /colour a month prior.

I really like your new glasses. You made a great choice even in a rush, and they don't look at all conservative to me.

I like your hair now, but I think that shorter hair would really suit you as well.

I like the shape of your new specs. How about a little eyebrow definition and darker lippie, since your new specs are the same colour as your complexion. That way you will create a little contrast.

I vote short pixie with length in front. I also like the natural colour of your hair.

Your new glasses are super, I love the shape and gold will be easy to work with.

Your hair looks similar to mine, a gentle wave that is unpredictable. But it does look as though it could hold some volume. I think you could go shorter - you have a great face shape for it. Why not - it always grows back!! I do agree a little length in the front is a good thing to soften it slightly.

Is your natural colour darker than the most recent pics?

Anyway well done - you look great.

I like the gold - it looks more rich than ordinary gold frames somehow. Is it a special finish?

Your new glasses frames are very flattering. It IS hard to take time making a selection at the optometrist's, isn't it, especially if someone from their staff is hovering while you just want to be left alone to try and retry several options!

Go for the shorter hair cut; after all, you can always grow it out again if you don't like it short.

I like the specs. I agree with the suggestion about defining eyebrows and some lipstick. I am also clueless about hair. No idea. I like your natural colour.

The new glasses look good. I am very unimaginative when it comes to hair but I think you could go shorter if you wanted to. I like the colour in pic 4, which appears to be a little darker than in the first pics? You have a very pretty face

Angie, I appreciate your comments so much. Thank you for the ideas re brows. I can see in the photos (more than I noticed IRL) that these frames cover more of my brows. I'll do a reshape at my hair appointment. Lippie is always a challenge for me, I will retrieve the darker shade from the back of the drawer!
A pixie cut with length in front, like yours? Though my face is much more square than yours!

Sally, yes the gold colour works easily with everything. My hair does have curl, but just at the front, to make it tricky.

Sochi62, I've been finding some pics of shorter 'dos.

RL, I'm hopeless with the hairdresser. I don't even know the right terms to use to ask for what I want. I just gesture vaguely, and ask her to fix it!

AG, I think the frames are just new and shiny. For now! But it is special that they have my name on them, which we noticed after deciding : )

Windchime, I did feel a bit rushed, having kids with me, too. But sometimes I can't make a decision if I have too much time. The optom assistant knows my professional role, so probably has a good idea of my usual look. Yes, hair will always grow again!

CocoLion, spiky hair my well be easier for me to style each day, too.

Brooklyn, my hair colour was new in pic 4. It fades so quickly between haircuts. Which is partly the reason I'd like to have more natural colour coming through. As for pretty? You're too kind!

JAileen, short and spiky hair? I'm sensing a theme here : )

Anyone like to make further suggestions?
#1 seems to combine the shorter back, length in front, and darker. Maybe a little spiky?

#2 is super short at the sides

#3 plenty of length at the front, not sure if I can keep it that smooth.

#4 I always find a photo of Robin Wright when I'm looking for hair ideas. I think my face shape is similar to hers.

#5 with a more textured (?) fringe.
Hmmm, none of these are really spiky.
I'm sure the stylist will have an easier job if I take a picture or two with me.

I really like the Robin Wright one - and can definitely see you like that! Although your bangs might not be long enough yet for the exact look? It's a bit difficult to tell from the pictures. My own pixie is very short overall in comparison, but that's mostly because I can't do the current "length in front" thing without a lot of work because of my naturally curly/wavy hair. The longer it gets the more difficult it is to get right. As short as it is now I only need some water in the morning and that's it.

Weighing in late on the glasses, but agree with others. I like cuts 1 and 5 for you, they have slightly more length on the sides. Having just had a shaved look, I can attest that style grows in super fast and (for my speed-growth hair) necessitated a salon visit every 2 weeks. I also like your idea of going darker to contrast more with your new specs.

Most of these pixie cuts will work, but you'll need to grow out your fringe. Why don't you try something like this while you are growing it out. That's what I had to do!

Astrid, that does sound like easy styling in the morning. You need to keep up regular trims with a short cut, don't you.

Aliona, thanks for the heads up about the super short sides. I'm not sure that i could get to the stylist every 2 weeks!

Yes, I usually go every four weeks. Sometimes five but that's really too long. My hair grows fast... But my hair cut isn't expensive, so I can afford a cut once a month.
