New skirt (I LOVE color)

I bought this casual summer skirt today. I love the color and the cut. It has an elastic waistband and will be perfect with many of my t-shirts and tops. I love it!

Astrid, I love this emerald/teal green on you - it's perfect with the colours you wear. Have you tried hitching the skirt up a bit? I suspect a few centimetres shorter may work really well?

Scarlet, I have a coral top and a blouse with coral in it and I can totally see them with the skirt.

Lynne, I haven't tried to hitch it up. But I'm not sure I want to spend the money to shorten it, because it was really inexpensive. Do you think it's too long for me?

Astrid, it's a lovely color. It works very well with your skin and hair.

I had the same thought as Lynne - it looks a bit short. Personally, I don't think that the low cost of the skirt means that you shouldn't have it tailored to fit. If it looks better at the shorter length, then the cost of the alteration will be worth it to make it perfect for you! But if you're not sure you could try rolling the waist and taking another photo to compare.

Okay, I tried to roll it up a bit at the waist and it looks a bit better shorter. Now it ends just below my knees, if I would shorten the hem just a little bit it would end in the middle of my knees (like many of my other skirts). I will think about it.

I like the color and shape, but think that it's too long, especially for a young woman -which is your case. Besides, it's summer, go and show your beautiful legs

PS: You can shorten it a bit yourself, just ask someone to pick up the ending of the skirt while you are standing and pull it inside, pin it and and then you take it off and sew it I think even I could do that!

airin, you're right about showing my legs, my friends tell me all the time to show more leg. I wore only long skirts two or three years ago, but I'm learning and getting better with showing more without feeling uncomfortable. I could definitely sew that myself, but I'm too lazy to do it by hand.

Lynne, I have one already (not that it is of use to me)! I also have a sewing machine at home with my parents, but the next time I'm there is in two months and I don't want to wait until then. I could do it by hand, but most of the time I'm too lazy and there are so many alteration shops here in Berlin that it's fairly inexpensive.
