New Skinny Cargos Yay or Nay

Hi Everyone,

I bought a pair of skinny cargos today. I have been enjoying my skinny jeans but thought it would be fun to have something just a little different to the jeans. Also they are not black, which is stepping out of my comfort zone. The cargos are Khaki and have zippers on the inside at the ankle.

And, I am team dressy and am keen to establish a bit of a more casual capsule for weekends and days off.

Please excuse the lack of styling, its after work and Master 8 and I have just got home from Fathers Day shopping.

I have worn two different flats, and two different heels in the photos as I am keen to know 1. Are these cargos ok and 2. what shoes should I wear with them.

I prefer this kind of pants with flats! This is not a pant for heels, in my modest opinion, because it's on the casual side.

I'm with Rute I prefer them with flats. I'm not keen on the way the opening on the inside opens over the heels, a minor picky detail though x

Good for you for stepping out of your comfort zone! As a blonde, I think you'll find it liberating to try colors other than black (at least I'm finding that to be the case). I also prefer this style with flats, and in this case, they actually look a bit too long and wide at the ankle to wear with heels. I vote yay.

These look great! Looks like they would work with both shorter and longer tops. And another vote for wearing these with flats.

I think they look great and another vote for flats. Or in winter maybe booties with heels? it's just too much going on with the open toe heels. I have a black and a grey pair of skinny cargoes I love and can't wait to wear again when it gets cooler here.

I like them both ways--flats and heels! Do they have an opening on the inside? It looks that way in the pic, but I can't figure it out...

I think that I prefer flats too but it would depend on the rest of the outfit too. I could go either way.

Yes, keep! I adore that color too.

Flats are good, but watch how open the zipper gets so they don''t get to drag on the ground in back. For the heels, I rather like the black sandals. I don't mind the bit of toe showing and I really l ike to repeat of the black from your top.

I think I prefer the shorter black top, but that''s only because the longer one hides the fun cargo pockets.

They look great! I wear mine with flats or tucked into boots in the fall/winter. I have also worn them with a casual wedge-heeled sandal in summer.

Love this look on you and each flat looks just perfect with your cargos. I would love to find some like yours, the trick is the length for me. Where did you find them? They look like the PPL too! These will be a great transition piece for your casual fall wardrobe.

Thank you so much everyone. I am so glad you think they look ok. Upon checking your responses this morning, I decided to wear them today. Hubby noticed and commented that I looked very casual and stylish today. Because I always dress "up" he notices when I don't and he likes it as he is more casual:)

Angie, thanks stepping out of my comfort zone is fun and scary. Waiting for the weather to warm up and looking forward to wearing those flats.

Carole, I got the cargos at Target (in Australia), they were on sale and I think the fabric makes them quite transeasonal. It's day 2 of Spring here and I think these will be great for those 20 degree days where its not 'hot' but the sun is out.

Thanks again, and I will try and get a photo to post later to show you how I styled them this morning...(after trying on numerous tops lol).

Those are some cool pants. All four shoes work, if you ask me - although I'm partial to the light coloured heels... It's kinda cyberpunk.

They look great! I like them with both the flats and heels, but I think I'd probably zip them up when wearing with heels so they behave more like normal skinnies. (Also, super cute flats!!)
