Here is the VC chunky/”shirttail” sweater in the XS. Shown with BF’s and a side view, to show the high-low hem. Looks funny in photo but better IRL due to movement of the drapey knit, I think.
I like it because it’s easy and comfortable with several pairs of work pants, all blue jeans, some pencil skirts, and is a cotton-linen blend, can layer under, and so is good for 6+ months of the year. However, since it may read as more trendy than classic, and it’s pricey for me, and it’s a knit, it would be a stretch to say the CPW will be excellent. Hmmm.
FWIW, I have returned the tweedy peplum sweater as it also did not seem to fit as a wardrobe classic and it isn’t as wearable with as many things, particularly trousers. The peplum waist also was just a bit off for me, too high. Also, unexpectedly, I returned the Loft gray boxy sweater. I wore it one day and at the end of the day there was a big pulled yarn in the front middle. Not sure if was starting already, but with the very loose weave, I determined this was a quality issue and would continue to worry about it, and opted not to get a replacement. .
Have had some further aha moments in trying to see how to build better wardrobe essentials and may try to share those later. As usual, reviewing several Angie posts helped drum some more sense into me.
