New Shoes.. Will they hurt?

I was really needing a nice pair of nude shoes per recommendation from Angie in an earlier post.
I just got these from Zappos.
They are a tad tight around the toe box edges, so been wearing around the house this evening. Any suggestions breaking them in quickly or do you think they will stretch a little??

I've used Angie's wet-foot trick for that problem. Wet your bare foot, put the shoe on, and wear it for a couple of hours. Repeat the next day or several hours later, till the shoe feels comfortable.

If they are leather they should be stretchable. (Patent leather may not stretch much, though.These don't look like patent leather; are they?)

I also found Angie's wet-foot trick to work on a pair of slip on sneakers recently.

HA, i guess it's what they call "Pleather"
Per Zappo's...Polyurethane upper. I
guess a cheap patent leather look-alike.
Toebox is cushion lined. Thanks for wonderful ideas linked to, I'm doing the wet foot now, feels kinds yuckie...haha lol

Oh, I don't think pleather will stretch. . . . So if you see no improvement after one wet-foot treatment, I'm not sure I'd bother with more.

So, caveat that this could ruin your shoes, so if there's a chance you will return them, I wouldn't do it.

I've done this - take a pair of old, snug fitting socks that aren't too thick, and cut off just past the toe joint. Soak the socks in rubbing alcohol, then place them on your toes. Then, carefully put your shoes on. Avoid getting alcohol on the outside of the shoes, as it can marr the finish. Wear them around (be sure to walk in them, don't just sit) for an hour or so. This should stretch 'em out so they fit like a glove!

I do this for shoes that are too tight in the toe box. I wish I'd known in earlier because I could have saved a few pair of shoes from the donate pile!

Jenava: Thank you, i got them slightly damp and still look fine. They are better now than out of box. Im going to wear around another day or two before leaving home and if needed go to plan b. Shoes were not expensive so doesnt bother me even if I had to light a fuse..haha lol

Shannon has stretched shoes with a baking potato! But not sure about polyurethane. Those are really cute - can you post a Find for them?

If they're not leather they won't stretch. They look tight, I can see the outlines of your toes in picture two.

I just tried the rubbing alcohol on socks trick. It worked great on some snug leather shoes. Excellent! I hadn't seen that before. I also used a hair dryer to heat them up a bit. Now the shoes feel perfect!

Pleather will give, though faux patent is tougher than normal. I agree that simply wearing them with socks will help, though socks soaked in rubbing alcohol will probably help more (and the blow-dryer while you are at it cannot hurt). This style of shoe is comfortable for me on my wide foot, so I imagine you will be able to make them work.
