Sorry to be a forum hog today! Trying the Mary Jane or oxford route. Also remembering that my feet look HORRIBLE in a low vamp.

How are these? Frumpy? They get RAVE reviews.

I like the first one best--looks like an avant-garde Mary Jane. The second one is good, too, and if it's a brand that works for your feet, it might be a better bet. I really like the patent loafer--not "too sensible" in my view, but very spiffy, maybe even sharp, which you said you're looking for. The last one I'd pass on--it feels a little mature to me.

ETA: What about a heeled oxford-- especially if you're going with a pants suit-something along these lines?

I really like the heeled loafers best, not frumpy or bleh at all!
Next one would be the last pair - I quite like how they look on the feet in the video.
From MJ styles the first would be my preference over the second.

The Danskos might not be formal enough; you could definitely wear them with a suit, but maybe not the best interview option. The Jeffrey Campbell come in a patent version, which I think is dressier, and from under your pant leg, only the dark tip will show until you sit down. I'd think they would be good--depends on how edgy you want to be.

To me, the Mary Janes seem way too staid for you. The heeled loafers get my vote. I also like the Born pumps - aren't those the ones Rae got in a different color?- but I think your pants will look better with the slightly higher heel of the loafer.

To me, these look more current than the patent ones, but I may be wrong. I don't know if the block heel is coming or going.

Honestly, the others (mary janes) look kind of frumpy to me. *ducks* They wouldn't necessarily feel that way with an artsy or casual outfit, but with a Theory suit, I'd kind of feel like... hey, why didn't she spring for shoes to go with it?

Gonna run away now before the MJ fans beat me up.

Am leaning toward the Sofft pair, as long as the heel is not dated. What do we think of this pewter color with a black dress and blazer? Or just go with the patent?

I love Rae's Borns as a second choice, but not sure the heel height is going to work for me with a dress.

If the top of your foot is going to show - like with any kind of pump, then nude hose and use them to try shoes on, too, because they can make a size slipperier.

Absolutely love the Sofft Marisol heeled loafers in patent. I'm afraid I'm with Rae and find the Mary-Janes a bit on the frumpy side (and this is from someone who owns Mary-Janes - lol!). They just don't seem like you.

Definitely the heeled loafers! I prefer them in patent for a dressier look.

I was thinking also maybe a pointy heeled oxford.

I like those Sofft loafers better than the ones on sale that I linked to. They do look current, and they are classic while also being hip with their masculine vibe. I agree with others that the patent looks dressier and more suit-worthy. Good choice!

My vote is for the Sofft patents or the 2nd 'Vogs as being best with a Theory suit. IMHO, for Mary Janes to work, the rest of the outfit needs to be funked up -- and that isn't an interview suit as worn to an interview! The 2nd Vogs seem pretty conservative for Vogs, and since they won't show terribly much under trousers seem like they would be a delicious secret.

Una, I honestly think you need a less clunky shoe. I am not a fan of the loafer style with a pant suit. It looks too butch to my eye. If low vamp is not good, why don't you go with a simple pair of black booties? You are wearing a pant suit, right?

I would not worry too much about UWPfying or Unafying the look for this occasion. I think you need to forget about that for a moment. Get yourself a tailored power suit ( no sizing up please) and sleek shoes. Sleek and sophisticated is what this one calls for IMO. Your hair will prevent it from looking boring. Trust me.

Una, like Zap, I think a pair of fab black refined booties are a great idea. Or a pair of heeled oxfords. I do like the patent loafers though. Not at all keen on the Mary Janes, or shoes like that with a suit.
