I set my style goals for the year and since I like to buy my seasonal updates ahead of time, I am pretty close to being done for autumn / winter. I need a few completer - but the main additions are done.
My style descriptors were Polished, Feminine and Playful. I set a goal to not buy black and I wanted to add teal, lilac and turquoise into my wardrobe. I wanted to buy footwear with a heel height of 7.5cm or less.
So how have I gone?
Well the dominant new colour in my wardrobe is green. I added as my wildcard purchase an olive velvet coat (photos 8 & 9). I also bought a patterned skirt (photo 3), a dress (photo 1)and a light knit (photo 3 & 4) in emerald green. So I stayed away from black, other than a patterned black dress (photo 2). I did also buy a turquoise dress in January (in finds) and that has been heavily in rotation, I love the colour and it works well with my Boden velvet blazer.
The emerald dress and the patterned dress are a new shape and style. I really love how they move and think they are prettier in motion than when I stand still.
I added some grey skinnies (photo 4) into my capsule for casual wear and they work well with the green velvet coat.
As for shoes, I have bought 3 new pairs. One pair of pumps and two boots (all Paul Green). The pumps and one pair of boots have high heels but are super comfortable because they have a platform at the front and so don't feel higher than 7.5cm to wear, even though they are. So I have cheated on this goal too, but I am wearing these shoes because they are comfortable. I love the ink booties too, they are very comfortable and have a cute bow detail.
As a bit of a style update, I also had my hair shortened. I have included a few photos (photos 5 - 7), including some WIW to work (these must be old because my hair has been short for 6 weeks now). I really love the black dress and the cape jacket, it is such an easy dress to wear and I always feel polished in it.
Apologies for the poor quality of photos, but they give a bit of an idea of what the new items look like on me.
