Please give me your honest opinion!

After my online frustration, I went to a brick and mortar store and got myself not just one... but two new pairs of sandals. Furious reaction I guess. My footwear budget for the whole summer! But it must be said that stores here order a certain number of items at the beginning of the season and then don't re-order, so the longer one waits, the less choice there is. Usually nothing left by June. I am actually lucky that they had these styles in my size still. Please tell me what you think of those. I haven't worn them outside yet and could still return them.

Pics 1-3: Ara Brogan Sandal
These feel so wonderful. Front patent white leather gives it a lot of chic. However the heel is not as delicate as what I had in mind. I am afraid it makes my leg look stout. And... is it in style?

Pics 4-5: Ecco sandals
Also very, very comfortable. They are light and the heel is shock absorbing, easily making it an 8 hr shoe, which is something I am always looking for. However, again, the cut is not like what I had in mind (I was looking for Sam Edelman types). But they do go with a lot of clothes in my closet.

I love BOTH pairs Krish! and I think both are stylish and will work with your wardrobe really well. The fact that they are so comfortable as well is super important and a major bonus.

I really like the Ara a lot. Gorgeous and fabulous!

I love Ecco shoes for comfort. How do you feel about the heel? Those would be deep breakers for me. I am also concerned you are settling for these as you stated you were looking for Sam Edelman looking ones, and these are not. Know when I settle, i keep looking for the original!

OMG, the first ones are fantastic!!! LOVE!! Those are so much fun. I would wear them to death, I think.

I also like the Eccos a lot and I think you should keep. I know someone who has that pair and said they were super, super comfortable. And my hairdresser has a similar pair from last year. She wears them for work, standing on a hard floor for more than 8 hours at a stretch.

ETA: I am still hoping you will find something in the budget for the SE ones, too, when they go on sale at Amazon. In the meantime, try on other SE styles to see how they fit you (or not).

Thank you for your assessment, ladies! So far I am leaning towards keeping them both...

But this week is set to be rainy, luckily for me as it gives me less temptation to wear a pair outside, ruling out the possibility of returning it. In other words, I have more time to decide.

Shannon, knowing your exceptional taste for shoes, and your to-die-for collection, this comment means a lot to me! You also understand the priority on comfort. It tends to reduce the choices a little.

Thistle: What bothers you exactly in the heel? It it that they are a different colour?

As you can see the heel is also black. But I really didn't like the black sandal look on my foot, and I already have a black pair. There was a different model in mint http://calamel.jp/go/item/56446967 which unfortunately did not agree with my super white skin, and still has the white heel, or mahogany with a black heel http://www.englinsfinefootwear.....-mahogany/, which I was trying to steer away from. But maybe I was wrong?

It's true that I am settling for something quite different than what I had originally been seeking. But there are so many factors in the way... it pains me to know that my fashion choices, some of them at least, are dictated by where I live and what shoe store owners order. But the alternative is going up scale and paying more than $200 per pair, which, at this point, I refuse.

Suz, thank you for the info on the Ecco ones. The SA also pointed out that they were truly 8 hr shoes, which for me seals the deal. About the SE: maybe later in the summer but my hopes are low that they would have my size... and even on sale, I am still too chicken to order blindly without having tried it on, considering the difficult and costly return.

Caro what is it you don't like about the second one? It would be useful to know, as not everybody likes them. Is it the heel too?

I love the Aras and the heel looks good to me. Your legs do not look stout :-).
I think the Eccos look fine too. They don't photograph that well with the light coloured heel, but if the red works in your wardrobe then they are keepers.
