New Purse: Yay or Nay?

So as you may know from my recent posts, I am looking at revamping my handbag collection.

I know I should hold off getting something new, but I do think the two bag solution may be best (one medium size with a strap, one tote.)

I saw this bag today on sale by a Canadian brand. I like the size and the taupey colour will go with a lot of teh greys and blushes in my closet, not to mention it will work year round.

I want something that is classic but still has some moderness and trendiness to it to really give a finishing touch to my outfit. Do you think this is it? Be honest:

I love this! I like the combo of materials and the rectangular shape. It's a nice little package.
1. Have you seen this in person? The two first pics show a greeny taupe but the last pic shows a yellowy taupe.
2. This is not a crook of the arm bag.

I really like it. Their bags are gorgeous. I remember we had a thread earlier this spring about them. I love the crimson ones, too. I wish the Ballet bag were not now sold out -- I think I might have tried it but I don't want black.

Anyway -- I really like this a lot and if it were just a tiny bit bigger I might consider it for myself. As Smittie says the combination of materials looks luxe and the shape is compact and clever. I think you'd look great with a bag of this colour although as she says it might be nice to have a clearer sense of whether it is cool toned or warm.

@Suz and @Smittie - I had meant to call to ask that very question but forgot - I called now and they said it's a 'perfect taupe - like a creamy caffe latte.' Sold!

@lisap - I have admired their bags for a while - their backpack or the ballet bag @Suz mentions are also beautiful. They used to have a storefront but no more; they have a studio and sell to a few boutiques across Canada and the US.

I like this bag for you. I had imagined that you would choose something like a ladylike top flap satchel. This will be a bit more versatile.

I have a slightly larger dark grey duffle from AllSaints that I got a few years ago, and I find that it is something I use and reach for often (but not in summer due to the dark color). It has a very similar vibe to this but does not have the cool tassel. I never carry mine with the strap though, but in my hand. I find that the strap makes it kind of sag in the middle. Hopefully this bag will not do that.

Oh, wow. WOW. This is a bag I could TOTALLY get behind. in fact, I didn't know I needed a new bag until right now. I am not a bag collector and most do not make me swoon but this one -- oh goodness. I love the different materials in particular, and the shape is fab. I really love the soft structure.

Seriously, I am saving this as a possible birthday present in the event i don't come up with another idea. And, as Lisap said, with all the tassels etc. Incredible.

Well thank you ladies! I was back and forth about it but then this mornign I realized it would perfectly fill a gap in my bag collection (mid-size - I have clutches or large totes!) and your encouragement sealed the deal. It is on its way to me! I will report back

I'm a definite YAY. For myself I might remove the tassel, but I might also put it right back on. For a long time I had a strict "absolutely no bling and no adornments on handbags" rule but I have bending it of late.
