Hello dear Fabbers!

I would like to share with you my latest purchases. I do not like shopping, but when the right thing just appears in front of you without you having made the effort to look for it … ah, that makes me feel so excited!

This has been the case with these 3 pairs of shoes that I found by accident in the space of a week:

- golden thong sandals (I badly need sandals at present)

- white pointy shoes

- nude shoes - super comfortable.

At present I do not need the last two ones, but I have recently adopted a new strategy in shopping. When I'll see something that I like, and that is my style, I will grab it, even if I do not need it. It will come handy later, when I could have a wardrobe hole but not have the time/energy/willing to go shopping. And in any case I could not find what I like, as it is often the case.

For example last year, in early Summer, I bought my white ballet flats with no real need of them. But they turned out to be the right shoes for Fall and Spring mild-weather days. Up to date they have been worn 36+ times. Success!

Love the gold ones especially! Shoes get worn a lot, so it's ok to have quite a few pairs!

Beautiful shoes, you did right thing. It's the same my strategy, especially about the shoes.

All fab! The gold are especially pretty. Your strategy is my strategy too. I have bought quite a number of shoes this year while not actually seeking them out. I have difficult feet so when I come across something I like that is comfortable and a good price I go for it.

I LOVE the gold sandals! If I could wear thong type shoes, I would get those. Sooo pretty, classic, and dainty.

They all look so pretty on your feet. I like your method of going for it when the right ones appear. Shoes in particular can be hard to find when you need them. I love shopping, though, so it's fun for me to hunt something down.

I love the gold thongs - but like Angie, can't wear them (well, choose not to, is a better explanation) . It's such a classic, sophisticated style.

Suntiger, Mirjana, Star, Angie, Christel, LJP - thank you for your kind comments. A lot of love for my thong sandals, I see! Luckily I can wear thongs and they are the only type of sandal that makes my feet feel "free" when it's hot, if you understand what I mean. 40 deg C in these days.

Those look like terrific summer shoes!

I understand the strategy you've described and it often works for me, as well. My blue loafers last year were a bit of a wild card (since loafers so rarely stay on my feet) and not a felt need. Yet I wore them as my indoor shoes all winter and they got well over 100 wears.

I think your strategy an excellent one for someone whose wardrobe is not over- large already. As mine is quite large I need to be a bit more selective- as also I like a heap of items especially shoes

Nice selections! So glad you found success. I find that sometimes I score the best “next workhorse” pieces when I’m not actively looking. I remember trying on my favorite-for-the-last-three-years boots and thinking “but do I really need another pair of black boots??” Apparently I did, because I have worn them so much since then! And what’s more, they still look good and can easily take me through a full day on my feet.

I especially like your thong sandals. I like that style too but kind of over-relied on them some years back so stepped away from the style a little. I do have one black pair that I enjoy!

Such pretty but also versatile shoes!

I also tend to go off script and buy something random if it’s in the right style, fit and goes with my color palette.
And shoes especially, since the odds of my finding a particular shoe for an event or something are extremely low. I’m more likely to get an outfit to work with the shoes!
