Another shopping trip. Wearing ankle boots, spring has visited but is refusing to stay, so I was in late winter clothing. The goal for today was to "try on flowy tops and dresses" and I was prepared to come home empty handed. These items would fit into my "dressy" capsule.
pics 1-4: two dresses I would have never tried on 3 months ago ..."no way this could look good on me" . I didn't buy either but I think similar silhouettes could work on me. (Sorry forgot to note the brand for the grey one)
5 + 6: Two blouses that I did buy. To get a loose enough fit around the hips have to go large/long in torso. Both will need to be shortened and #5 possibly taken in a little with some darts in the back to give a little more fit through the torso. It seems to often work better for me to buy regular (not petite) and alter from there.
-#7 I wanted a new summer dress and found this one at Anthro. Again a style I never would have considered a few months ago. I will leave this on the hanger with tags on for a while and consider it, but would plan to close up the side pockets if I keep it.
From earlier postings:
- The dragonfly top did not work; the MP was too tight around the hips and the ML was ok in hips but huge at the shoulder/neckline and too long.
-Returned the black anthro top; the little bow thing at the bottom edge just bothered me too much.
Epilogue
Joining YLF has taught me so much that I don't know where to begin to thank you all. Maybe this will say it....I was texting with my BFF while on
today's shopping trip and she said "I think all this emphasis on fashion and looking good has been good for your soul. You have never allowed yourself to totally cater to your inner self, other than musically. This is really good."
