New pencil skirt: eclectic retro boho

Last of Old Navy sale purchases: high waist, midi pencil skirt. The fabric is a midweight brushed rib. It is surprisingly sturdy in shape compared to ON’s past flimsy, super thin pencil skirts I have tried. The fabric will likely pill after a few wears. But I’m okay with that.

I’m a little meh about the color. It’s a kind of heathered cocoa? I wish the color was warmer. But the cut is good! And I like the fabric itself. I feel this skirt will pair with most to all of my poet/boho blouses nicely.

I also like it with my band tee and kimono!! Kind of funky. I didn’t get my tee smoothed out, so ignore the wad of tee under the tummy portion hehe.

Love it paired with my new ON boho blouse. I did a half tuck so it didn’t feel fussy or prim; love the ease a half tuck added to this.

I don’t see this being an everyday at-home outfit for scrubbing toilets per se. But I can see going to grocery shop or play at the park in this with tights and Uggs! So yahoo!

Browns can be tricky to get right - it's away from your face though, which gives you greater flexibility at least.

I like both looks - sounds like a solid skirt for running errands! I sometimes belt my dusters over the top to stop them from flying open (great for drama, not so great for everyday living lol).

I love the fun you are having styling this! You show that you can wear it in multiple ways and it seems to work well with stuff already in the closet.

Some years ago I had a very similar knit skirt in a sort of frosted mocha color. I wore the hell out of that thing. It was neutral enough to go with almost everything, and yet had a nice milk chocolatey tone all its own. I hope you get a lot of mileage out of it.

Suz, thank you I really do think this fits into my closet well. And I don't feel I amg getting the "bumps" and such like the metallic skirt. So I feels better.

Roberta, you had me chuckling about wearing the heck out of your similar skirt! I really hope to get a lot of mileage out of it, as well. I'm even hopeful to copy the skirt into new fabric. It seems to be a really good cut for me.

Hah, yess. Muddy/heathered colors don't always work with the common brights-they usuall need heathered shades alike or neutrals. BUT l love the pairing with the white AC/DC tee- here what is the color of the piping and the graphic? It really seams the same as the skirt is-but if not-still working great. You can always wear this with white sneaks and even add a denim jacket if wanted for colder times. I love a sturdy stretchy skirt, and yours looks fab here.

Have you tried knotting the hem of the tee rather than tucking? That’s my trick for dealing with excess tee fabric.
