Among my many recent purchases was this Shopbop pencil skirt, black, and it is probably one of my favorites of what I got.

It checks so many boxes:
1)thick enough to be worn by women with extra tummy/thigh and still look good
2)no slit!
3)complete stretch construction with simple cut and design, so the most mundane to the most difficult maneuvers (climbing a fence, etc.) can be done comfortably. No hiking, and I don't have to watch for if the skirt turns itself around.
4)over-the-knee on trend this year (I hear)
5)wardrobe basic but also very fashionable
6)fits into my desire to wear more 50s/60s clothes
7)looks like it would be one of those packable fabrics.

I bought this pretty intuitively, without reading about the details. It looks on me (large) like it does on the model (small), and I love how functional that is.
