New look at Loft

Has anyone been on the Loft site recently? I went there tonight and found that they are completely revamping their style, at least as regards the models and presentation. The new models and poses look almost Zara-esque or a bit J. Crew-ish. I really liked it...I found the old style too saccharine. (I wish Macy's would update their look as well...I find the whole fan-blowing-the-model's-hair thing so outdated.)

Question: Do you think that the Loft clothing itself is also changing style, or is it just that it has a different "feel" because of the new models? And maybe they are pairing things differently (i.e., less classic combinations). I found it hard to tell if the clothes are the same thing or if it was the presentation that made them seem different.

Gigi, I haven't shopped at Loft lately but now I am curious. I hope that they did revamp the look, Found it tiring after awhile. A few years ago they seemed to have ruffles on everything. None the less I do have a few pieces from Loft that I still like and have kept, so I need to check this out.

I haven't been happy with Loft's quality of late. Sweaters purchased recently have lost shape after a couple of washings..I hand wash cold, lay flat to dry.

I picked up a cute white jacket at Loft after the holidays -- was very surprised to be tempted there. I think they are definitely revamping their line as well as the look of the stores.

Very intrigued by that knit button-down! And yes, the look of the site has definitely been freshened up. I too had pretty much given up on Loft but will give them another look.

I also gave up on ATL because of quality and the high amount of ruffles everything had. They used to be a go to store for me, but I haven't been to one in over a year now.

Loft used to be a store that I loved and shopped frequently. With the advent of the tissue thin t-shirts, they've seem to incorporate this lack of quality into all of their clothes. I still go in occasionally, in fact, I purchased a 100% cotton tunic sweater right after Christmas. The sweater is becoming a favorite. Hoping they change and focus on quality fabrics.

I haven't checked out their site in a while. I wasn't wild about the earlier layout, so I hope this one is an improvement.

I haven't checked them out for some time - not since I bought a dress you could all but see through and the store was absolutely nasty about taking the return.

I've never been a big Loft fan due to poor quality issues, but usually I can find a few casual tops I like to get me through the summer. Since Fall I have not liked the (lack of) color pallet, so I'm hoping for some brighter color for summer.

Yeah, they used to be a go to for me, but recently everything is so darned thin - weird thing is that I've got an Ann Taylor factory store nearby and the quality / price ratio is better than either AT or Loft. So I just shop there instead.

The new styling is a little too arty for me - when the models stand so you can't see the features of the clothes they're modeling, what's the point?

I got several casual summer knit tops last year that were decent quality for the price, if purchased on sale. And I got 2 pairs of leggings for lounge wear that I've worn a bunch for fall/winter and those are quite nice.

I hadn't noticed a different look but I don't shop there too often and I don't know that I've ever been on the website. There is a store in the shopping center closest to me so I might have to stop in.

Wow, I feel like I need to e-mail Loft and tell them to check out this thread. They have some serious issues! A lot of people apparently have dropped them like a hot potato because of quality problems. A lower price point is fine to compete in the industry, but when your quality is so bad that a lot of people quit buying, you're shooting yourself in the foot.

What do people think of my letting Loft know about this thread? Should I do it or no? It would be nice if it would get them to clean up their act.

I don't think that you should inform Loft because a few comments do not indicate the experiences of everyone who shops there or everyone on this forum. I like Loft a lot for certain types of clothes. I have broad shoulders and they are one of the few stores that have softer crepe and knit blazers. I love a lot of their jackets. I also like a lot of their skirts, which work well for me. There is another negative thread today on Loft's sister store, Ann Taylor and personally, I have to say I love their crepe blouses. From Loft, I have purchased t shirts that are too thin, and do have problems with that, but in the past few years I've seen the same thing with the Gap, Target and other retailers. I think it's good to take back items that have not worked and also to write it up personally in the comments about specific items that you have purchased. As well, if it doesn't work for you, don't shop there.

Thanks, Elaine. That's what I love about this forum...there's always differing opinions. :^) Actually, this thread was not intended to be a negative thread...stuff just kind of came out of the woodwork. My original question, which had to do with the site revamp and whether the clothes are also revamped, got lost in the discussion. Oh well!
