New high-shaft gorgeous boots!

Never fails. I complain about not being able to find a certain thing, and then promptly find it an hour later. In this case, I had been on the hunt for a high shaft boot - well above the ankle - for the last few weeks. Nothing in any store - save for one stunning pair from Vince Camuto which had a totally unworkable heel. Grrr. Well, right after posting in reply to Angie's new cold weather look this morning, I find TWO pair at our Nine West store. Can't get the finds from there as their website is down, so found the one I bought on Amazon. The only niggling worry I have is that they are in suede, and are a plum-ish brown. Amazon sells them in black leather , but I won't buy from amazon so...

The fit is fantastic, they are comfortable, look great with skinny jeans and cropped flares, as well as with a pair of cropped wide legged tuxedo pants I bought in the summer and have yet to wear. I love the colour - it's very luxurious and will work with lots in my closet, but they are suede so will be limited to non-snow weather or special nights out where I'm not walking through snow. Anyways, for any one looking for this shaft height, Nine West retail had several options!

Enjoy! I have some suede booties of a similar color (mine may be a smidge lighter). I just can't get my head around the shorter pants and higher shaft idea. FOR ME, at least. Bc I have mammoth size legs and calves and I just can't seem to fathom how it would look on me.

Please post pics with the pants so I can start to wrap my head around this style. You know in about 3 years when the trend is on its way out I will finally warm up to it - so feel good you are on the front end, lisap.

abc - I think you're right in that this look won't work on every body , height, shape and size. I just know intuitively it will work on me. I can't wait to wear them - tomorrow hopefully!

Very nice, lisap! I am expecting a pair tomorrow that I ordered on Amazon. I, too, wanted the higher shaft because I don't like that gap that you get with the shorter ones. I will look forward to seeing you model yours! These are Blondos.

Gorgeous boots!! Can you handle the heel height? It's pretty high -- or maybe not? (She says, hoping...)

Biting my knuckles. I want this look to work on me but know it's a big risk. Short legs and all that. I do think if I wear a column of colour otherwise (as in the grey boots thread) it will work on me okay.

Suz - yes, totally workable heel height. It's a sturdy angled block heel, and the footbed is nicely cushioned. I can do a highish heel as long as the toe isn't pointed and the heel is not a stiletto. I'm ok here - I have longer legs than body - my one remaining redeeming feature - lol.

They look great! I can't help you on suede concerns, but I love suede footwear and so I buy and watch the rainy day forecast. I agree the color is very versatile and adds interest as a "nearly neutral".

shevia - the green is stunning - I considered them seriously. A really deep shade that could work with a lot . The heel is not as high as it looks - believe me. Or it sure doesn't feel super high to me - and I cannot tolerate high heels either.

Deb - I wondered that too - have to check. I'm not sure about hosiery if I wear these boots with a dress - that's getting into weird colour territory which I am not fond of. Have to figure that one out.

I have looked at those in the dark red leather, but now you have led me to realize they're also available in that beautiful dark green! I may give up the idea of another pair of tall boots in favor of these.

Those are gorgeous. I love the green and wish they were lower heeled. 3" even with the block heel is too risky on all the ice we get. I used to have dark green suede boots that I wore into the ground. The dark brown you got looks lush too.

Joy - these will be fair-weather and indoor boots only. No ice for me, or for them I'm at that age now where I am freaking out about falling and breaking something and the permanent damage that can do. I loved the green too but it wouldn't really go with much in my closet.

Suz, I am sure you can rock the look of cropped pants and booties if you wear 2 in heel. You already have ink high shaft booties - why not pin some pants and experiment with the length?

Very sleek and beautiful. I have an almost identical pair (Ralph Lauren from several years back) which I never wear, although I love them, because they have nipped square toes. The recent discussion about a possible trend toward square-toed shoes has me hoping I might be able to try them again this season. I thought they looked especially graceful with long boot-cut pants.
