Last week I finally came to my senses and ordered new hangers for the coat closet. I had some fabulous black metal hangers which I got years ago on clearance at Bed Bath and Beyond. Those weren’t enough for all our coats and jackets, so the rest were a mismatched jumble of those sturdy-ish and ugly, mostly plastic hangers that come with men’s suits, or extra heavy ones from the dry cleaners. One thing that always bothered me was the wire hanging hooks were different lengths so the coat shoulders didn’t line up at the same level. Crazy, huh?

The hangers came and I switched out the bad ones. I mostly gave the new silver ones to DH and myself the black ones. I thought it might be occasion to ditch a few coats, too, but was surprised that there was only one not being used and truly ditch-worthy, and that was a sort of “gag gift” given to DH way back, with a company logo from his first employer.

Nice closet, eh? Oh, and you can see the hat collection will never fit into the little labeled bin. It is holding some stocking caps and a couple of ear warmers.
