That may be a very tall model--21" usually comes to the top of my knee (5'8"). On the other hand, the cut of Halogen skirts doesn't match up with my body--generally not a flattering fit.

I am realy annoyed at Halogen! I bought a couple skirts online and they arrived yesterday.

The Baily stripe skirt in 6P fit well but was way too short. No regular sizes online (why not?!)

The seamed pencil skirt in 2 regular was a bit loose and way too long. But the only petite option was black. Again, why?!

So darned annoying...

I'll wait to try out the cotton skirt in a store before I buy.

Pretty! I agree they look a little short now. Would be a problem for workwear. I love the bright colors, though!

This is not the seamed pencil skirt -- so I wonder how it fits? Was so annoyed that the regular pencil skirt went on sale in gray -- but not available in petite or only available in two sizes. Sigh.

Boo that they made them shorter. Here's my dilemma - I tried on a regular one a while ago and it didn't work for me because I think the top part was too long (hard to explain, but it ended up with extra fabric around my stomach which made me look like I had a pooch) but I liked the length. I think I need a petite, but didn't want it to be shorter so I didn't bother reordering. And now they will all definitely be too short for me. Boo. (I do like short skirts, but not for a pencil, plus I have long thighs so the old regular length was perfect just-above-knee-length on me.)

I'm actually having trouble finding the perfect midi length (like my black pencil midi skirt) - I'm find everything is either too short or way too long (almost to my ankle). Very frustrating!

Why must everything always be shorter! I see so many skirts and dresses I won't even consider because of their shorter lengths! Wahhhh!

I was abut to say I hope they'll start making them in 27" length so I too can finally order them!

Why on Earth did they chop some inches off??

Lone dissenter here who is glad these skirts are shorter/more of a summer weight fabric than the seamed pencil skirts.

The seamed pencils were too long on me, too warm for warm weather and made me feel constrained/unable to walk.

The summery fabric/shorter length may just be what I need to get a pencil skirt to work for me.

I'm with Ornella - I couldn't wear the previous version because it was too short, and now they're shorter still? You can always get something hemmed, you can't add length...

I agree that a shorter length can be really cute for summer with bare legs and sandals if you have the legs for it, but it's a more casual look and the skirt is IMO therefore less versatile than a slightly longer length.

The regular IS shorter than the hallowed seamed skirt, but, according to the specs, this new skirt is just an inch shorter than the seamed skirt.....(21 vs 22 inches) I think this model is really tall!

And the petite is actually the same length as the seamed skirt!

So worth a try!

I like the pockets on this one.

I'm with you, Rae! I tried this on at Nordie's last Christmas. What a wonderful fabric! What terrific workmanship! What a hideous fit on me! I felt like Goldilocks in a house with two beds! One two small.....One too large. Ah well, I can still enjoy the looks of them on other YLFers! FWIW I preferred the longer length.

These are not the same skirts as the seamed version. I think they have had these at this length before because I got mixed up before. If so, these are a thinner woven fabric. I'm only 5'3" and a 21" skirt will hit me two inches above the knee.

Halogen is offering the seamed pencil skirt in a couple of new colors—Green Amazon is particularly fab. I wish they'd offer it in white; that I could really use. The non-seamed Halogen pencil is a nice weight, but too short for me.

The new cotton skirts look similar to the JCPenney pencil skirts that Isabel has mentioned on the forum. I tried the JCP skirts but they were too short and thin for me - but might work for those who are looking for shorter, lightweight skirts. http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.....d=EXTERNAL|86297

I know it says 22" on JCP website but it definitely was shorter than the Halogen seamed skirt on me.
