New Haircut - Ta-da!

I'm just back from the hairdresser, and as per request, here are some pics.

It's going to take me a while to get used to, but I'm so pleased with it! It was blow-dried and straightened at the salon, which I won't be doing at home, so I imagine it will look more wavy when it air-dries.

Please let me know what you think. And thanks once more to everyone who chimed in on my previous thread; I wouldn't have been nearly as confident about making such a big change without all your comments. I love it!

wow!!!! (worth 4 !s). the change is really fresh. quite a departure from your previous do. so much better with a little more flattering height in the crown and we can focus on your lovely face more.

Thanks so much everyone. I feel amazing. I keep breaking out into a grin and doing a little happy dance on the sofa! (Does anyone else do stuff like that? No? Just me then...)

It feels strange when I run my fingers through it and they run out of hair much sooner than I expect. I'll try and remember to post a wash-and-go wavy pic too at some point.

Looks great! I have a happy dance, although I don't jump on the sofa Maybe when you get used to styling it you could try the side-swept bangs. It really only takes 2 minutes in the morning to do bangs, so it's not so bad. Just mentioning it because I thought I remember you wanting something like that, not because this haircut doesn't look fab.

It looks fantastic! How brave of you to make such a dramatic change!

My hair texture is probably similar to yours and I blow dry every other (or sometimes every third day). Once you get used to it, it really takes no time at all if you want to keep the sleek salon look. If your hair ends up wavy/curly, you might find that it curls up alot more now that it is shorter so you might need some different products to keep it manageable.

Thanks again for all your amazing comments. I'm not sure I'd ever have had the courage to make such a drastic change before finding ylf; having your support has made the difference.

We went dancing last night, and I had some lovely comments from my friends. I used to wear my hair in a ponytail, and sometimes whiplash my partners across the face if I turned too fast (oops!). No danger of that now, though I did like swishing it around in a dramatic fashion! However I did find I felt hot more quickly, I think because the back of my neck is now covered.

Anyway I'll probably experiment with the best way to manage it, but I'm just so glad I went for it. It feels so liberating!
