The hair looks great but it sucks about the bag. Hope you can get it repaired.

Debbie, I gasped when I saw the photo of your cut. WOW! This is my favorite haircut that I've seen on you.

However, that TOTALLY stinks that not only did you not get any offer of compensation, but not even an apology. A couple tips - submit your complaint in writing, via email or letter, and keep a backup copy - I'd recommend submitting one to the local manager and one to the corporate office. Calling is a good way to follow up but the documentation of having a strong but tactful statement in writing can get a lot more traction.

If the corporate office for the salon has a Twitter or Facebook page, you might try submitting the complaint there as well - some large companies are very proactive about monitoring and following up to complaints submitted on social networking sites, and I think that trend is only increasing over time.

(Another tip - since it sounds like you love the cut but may not be so inclined to go back to this salon or to the stylist based on how you were treated, get someone to take clear pictures of the cut and color from every angle so that you can bring photos to a different stylist in the future to try to duplicate the great cut. I actually do this even though I LOVE my stylist - I photograph the new cut, and then if I ever decide to go back to it in the future, I kind of have a "hair inspiration/successful haircuts" file to refer to.)

So sorry to hear about your bag. Awful to hear that nothing was said OR done about it. Bags cost money, bottom line, and it was ruined. At least she did not charge for the hair but that does not make up for ignoring the ruined bag. I would certainly complain to management and would not return there, regardless of how much I liked my hair. (and yours is quite nice) If that is the service that they bring it's not worth the risk to future items.

Oh I am so sorry! That is so sad about the new bag! I can't believe they didn't offer to replace it. Maybe your cobbler can dye the whole bag or cut out the spots somehow it they are small and inconspicuous.

Wow, Debbie - I think that is my favorite cut AND color I've seen on you to date!! So, a big woohoo on the hair

But a big thumbs down on the stylist dye handling

It's a start to not charge you for those services, but after you've talked to the cobbler and have a plan (Dyeing the bag?), then I'd call to talk to the manager and followup the call and any agreement reached in an email (so be sure to get their email address!)

Hopefully they will cover the additional repair cost . . .

Thank you everyone I emailed the corporate office so we will see what they do.
Kari the social media is something I would have never thought of thank-you!

I really love this cut on you!

Horrible about the bag. I'm glad you're following up!

Good luck, Debbie. I hope that the corporate office does the right thing.

Fantastic hair Debbie and such sad news about how you were treated and your ruined bag.

Glad to hear that you're following up.

I don't know if it's just me or not but I think I'd be much less inclined to complain to corporate if they apologized and fussed while I was there. For the manager not to even come out to see you is inexcuseable in my opinion.

I totally agree Freckles. If the manager had spoken with me I would have been fine more than likely.

How tacky that the manager refused to see you!

Corporate, huh? When someone reaches out to you - or when you follow up with them if they do not reach out to you - You might consider pointing out that you are an active member of a very popular fashion and style forum read the world over and that we are all appalled by the lack of accountability - if you aren't compensated, you just might have to let us know the name of the salon in order to warn us away from the poor customer service.

Just an idea in case they are really that unyielding.

Okay, a bit of a tangent on poor customer service: I had a similar reaction recently in a nice, small restaurant. I went there with 2 coworkers for an early lunch. It's a small place but there were only a few customers there when we arrived. We ordered our lunch, and more people came filing in. And we talked and talked and talked, and then realized that nearly an HOUR had gone by since we'd ordered our food - with no signs of it coming, no one checking in with us, anything at all. We were there for about an hour and a half before our food came and we had to flag down a waiter to find out what the deal was. No one ever apologized for the inconvenience or anything. By the time we got our food our lunch break was MORE than over, so we had to grab it to go. I've had good service there in the past, but honestly I'm pretty wary about going back. If someone had apologized, or even warned us that they were unusually busy and that food would be taking a while, I'd have had a totally different reaction.

Debbie! I love, love, your hair! A gorgeous color on you - and the style is sooooo flattering for you - and hip and young looking! LOVE!

Once my hair stylist got hair dye on my dress. She (her insurance) not only compensated me for the dress, but also, she didn't charge me for my cut and color. It was just automatic - no questions asked.

Debbie, I am so glad that at least the color and cut are fab, but the stylist and salon sound horribly unprofessional. Don't they wheel the color out on a cart while your handbag is safely stashed on the stylist's table? I swear that's what most salons do, or something like that. Anyway, whatever Taylor says goes in this situation. They should definitely compensate you. I hope they resolve it quickly!

I'm focusing on the positive here...the cut and color are so, so flattering. I just love this style on you and hope you are equally thrilled with that part of the experience.

Great hair but how awful about your bag (((hugs)))
I know this is like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted!! But I always wear old clothes and shoes to visit the salon for any hair or beauty procedure and either leave my bag on the coat hooks or just take my purse and keys and leave them in my pocket. I do think she should have suggested you move your bag though hope you get something sorted x
