New haircut

I have an appointment to get my hair cut next Tuesday and am at a loss for ideas for my haircut. I would like to do something different from what I have at the moment which is just slightly wavy and below shoulder length with some long layers, as seen here: http://s396.photobucket.com/al.....=photo.jpg (sometimes I do smile, I swear!)

I am thinking about getting a bob that would look something like one of these:

I love how healthy and thick her hair looks.

Her hair seems to have a similar thickness to mine.

I like the length of this haircut, and its 'messy' nature.

Would a bob suit me, and would it be high maintenance?

A new hairstyle, how fun. I think the decision depends on how much time you want to spend on your hair. I like the 2nd and 3rd pictures, I think their hair thickness is closer to what you showed in your picture. But they are using product and curling their hair to make it look that way. Your hair looked fairly straight. With product will it curl more? The brunette looks like she has thicker hair or has a lot of product in her hair.

I love the last picture! I think it would look so good on you! It is so soft and full. Do you always wear your hair back? I think hair around you face would soften you up a bit. Sounds like you have the perfect hair for any of those looks.

I think that a chin length cut will look good on you. Unless you have a lot of wave/curl in your hair, I think you will definitely have to use styling products and take the time to style your hair --even though the look is "messy" and as if it's unstyled. That's definitely something to discuss with your hairstylist before you get the cut.

I have had shortish hair before and it tends to start curling when it's above my shoulder. The only reason why it's straight at the moment is because of the weight of it.

I tend to wear my hair back these days as it falls in my face when I study and also because it's starting to look very messy when it's down around my face.

Tassajara, be sure to talk with your stylist to make sure that cut will work for your lifestyle and your hair texture. I have had a cut like the pictures you showed, and my hair curls and waves a lot, so it was a great style. However, if your hair is thin or fine it can get weighed down by the products you'll need to keep frizz at bay. I think it will be a fresh look, and I hope you enjoy it! Get ready for lots of hair in your face, though... it's meant to have a mind of its own in those cuts! I hope you love whatever cut you get, and please post pictures for us!

I got my hair cut today- Had a chat with my hairdresser before she did anything. I decided on a long bunt-cut bob which, according to the hairdresser, should keep my hair from going curly at this length.
