New hair angst, and bonus Kaffe Fasset quilt photos

Here are more pics of my new do, and I am still not sure about it.....I feel the straight bobbed shape isn't flattering to my square jawline. I'm not sure if I need to get the bottom edge shaped more; perhaps I just need to learn how to 'do' it. My stylist said it can take a week before you really know how your hair is going to sit in a new cut, and she's happy to modify if I need to. WDYT?

bonus pics - I went to hear Kaffe Fasset, a well-known quilt/textile/knitting designer, speak at the opening of an exhibition of his quilts. Aren't they spectacular?

I love your new do, Lynne (not surprising, eh?! LOL). I have a square jaw, too, and think that this shape flatters and frames our faces. I just got mine cut recently to this shorter length, and have also struggled a bit with "doing" my hair, although I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of it (not apparent from my post this morning, however ; ) ).

Those quilts are GORGEOUS. I love the color (and I love quilts). Thanks for posting. We're having a VERY wet, rainy day today, and it's wonderful to get a shot of color through your post.

Your hair looks great! FWIW, on my screen, the bottom of your hair looks shaped; it curves nicely around your neck and frames your face nicely.

I love the new cut! The soft layers add interest and movement and I think it IS flattering You look especially pretty in your denim shirt with necklace too.

Those quilts are scarily gorgeous - how does someone put that effort into one?? I'm absolutely fascinated with the colors and pop quality of #6. . .

I love your new hair style and I also love the Kaffe Fasset quilts. I am acquainted with his fabulous colorful style, and some day I will gather up my courage and use one of his quilting books that I own and make one of his quiilt designs myself. He has the most confident color sense that I have ever seen, and I wish I could see his quilts in person. Where are they showing? Is it a traveling exhibit?

I think it's very pretty and flattering on you!

It reminds me of what I read about Grace Kelly, she was told her jawline was too square but a modeling friend told her to cut her hair to highlight it instead of hide it. And she picked a style not too different from yours!

Your hair looks great, I think it is a flattering cut. Thank you for posting the quilt photos, I am always so inspired by Kaffe Fassetts use of color. He makes fairly simple quilt designs come alive by his fantastic sense of color.

Thank-you, all, for your encouragement! I've had longer hair for the last 4 years so I think my reservations are mainly to do with my eye adjusting.

Kristine, thank you for the link, it was a great read. Grace Kelly had a lovely clean jaw-line, and it didn't occur to me that she may have once tried to hide it!

Sarah, we do have similar faces and now, hairstyles! We need to keep each other updated :). Glad you enjoyed the colours - let me know if you need more :).

Sheila and Heather, the exhibition is part of his promo for his new book, Simple Shapes Spectacular Quilts. The format is simple geometry with spectacular colour - I think he's achieved that! One of the (few) DHs in the audience asked him how much of his design was done on the computer. He laughed and said "none! I do everything with my hands, I can barely use a computer. And I can't drive, either!".

Lynne, I love your new hair cut on you! It is very flattering and sophisticated. It's probably just new to you. I have a square jawline too and I understand how you feel, but it really does flatter your face. The wave of your hair doesn't make it look like a straight bob at all.

I still love the new cut, it really suits you well! You can always try styling it so the silhouette appears more round than square and that would lightly offset squareness in your jawline (which looks lovely, by the way).
