Thanks so much! You are all so kind. All joking aside, I'm touched by the positive comments, and glad you like the hair. I'm still undecided on it. I find that it takes a couple of weeks for a new cut to "settle in", and during that time I swing between liking it or hating it. Does anyone else feel that way? I wonder if this is something that happens more to curly gals than to straight ones. My hair is somewhere between curly and wavy, and I find it looks a bit different every day.
Looks like there's a lot of love for argyle out there!
Angie, thanks for the hugs. I'm glad you and Greg changed the privacy policy. It was a tipping point. With that added measure, plus my name change, I think the searchability factor is sufficiently low.
Alaskagirl, I'm sure I posted a pic of my face once before, a few years ago! It wasn't a WIW, but still. (Thanks for the compliment though -- gorgeous is not an adjective I normally get)
Shevia, I meant this outfit isn't traditionally figure flattering in that it does not enhance femininity (because it erases my waist and bust). But I agree with you that it's not unflattering. It's just different. Different priorities. I feel good in this boyish look.
Anne, yes, putting a hand just above the hip does suggest a hint of waist. Too bad I can't pose like that all day long, hahaha.
Parsely, I think this is why I gravitate toward tomboy style. It's hard to look masculine when you are tiny. Plus my figure is more suited to straight than to curvy. I don't always dress tomboy, though. I actually wear skirts quite a bit.
Janet, I'm a sucker for anything argyle too.
Annagybe -- Goth? Really? Interesting. I wonder what I've said that would make you think that. I do wear dark lipstick, and a lot of black and grey, but I've never been goth. (I did have Tim Minchin hair a year or two ago, maybe that's why. See pic below). Sadly I don't have the face for goth. Any outlining of my eyes with kohl makes them look like two black holes, and my skin won't do the ghostly pallor -- it's always a little shiny and the pale makeup just slides off halfway through the day. But this outfit is more preppy than my usual, I have to say. It's hard to make an argyle vest not look preppy!
Beth Ann, thank you for that comment. Playful but understated is exactly what I'm going for.
Ariadne and Amiable -- glad you like the hair that much! My hairdresser cut a lot of bulk out of it to make the wispy bits.
Makrame -- I look familiar because I have Everyman Face. (Everywoman?) I get that comment all the time.
Gingko, maybe I'll start a shoe thread later.
Also thanks to Parsley, DianeG, Gingko, cceile and Suz for the nice comments about my drawings. I have very little time these days, which is why I'm not doing them at the moment, but they show my outfits so much better than the crappy mirror selfies do. So when I have time, I'll do more.
