I had to come back and let you know had to come back and tell you again that you look sensational. With so many wigs in different styles, how to you handle comments from those who see you daily?

Human hair wigs are the best if you have/choose to wear one.

YLF!!!! and if I had not been following your hair story in recent times, I never would have guessed that this was a wig....beautiful.

I am surprised to say that I actually find this shade more flattering on you than the lighter blonde! Very nice. It somehow brings out your eyes more.

This shade is perfection on you! I'm glad you went ahead with the purchase. And what a great idea to buy a top to match! This would be super fun, to be able to change up your hair color and wardrobe colors as you feel like it.

You’re so funny. Of course you look cute! But your “old” hair is great too.

Thank you all for your feedback and comments! I have started many replies in the last 2 days, but I was away from home and on my cell, and my long comments deleted themselves every time. But I am back now. I am thrilled you liked this new wig. Please excuse me for this late response.

Bijou, yes! And I can honestly say that my wigs have been my major workhorses too, making most outfits much easier to put together and dressing up much faster.

3style, it's true, you pointed me in this direction and I thank you for it! What makes this particular top more age appropriate is that the band is exceptionnally large and sturdy, and the cotton, although light, is not flimsy. All the difference in the world.

Stylefan, I encourage you to try on a Yoga Jeans jacket. I love my dark wash one, but if I could I'd get a black one as I think it would be even more useful with the current trends. They are stretchy once on and VERY comfy, however mine didn't stretch out with wear. So do try on, and you needn't go too small.

Aida, thank you! I take note of your suggestion and will sure try it out. It's a great idea regarding proportions too, it would change the whole look and might bring it up a notch too.

Rach, Kathie, Jess, Jane, Jussie, Katerina, Brooklyn, Cardiff girl, Chris, JAileen, DeAnna, Amy, Donna, Beth Ann, Ann, Janet, Fashiontern, thank you for your kind compliments.
I changed makeup too: for example, the lipstick I'm wearing here would look very very brown with my blonde hair.

Efbgen, Delurked, Mainelady, Lyn, Gigi, It sure is fun to be able to play with hair color and change clothes. With the blonde, I have to basically rule out all yellows near my face, but not with the brunette. And Lyn, yes, wigs are opening a completely new section of my existing closet, as I am rediscovering some pieces and combinations. There is something to be said about the volume from more hair that alters how one carries the clothes, and consequently, what outfits work best.

Texstyle, I have washed more than once my other synthetic wigs
and hair pieces. It works well when using the dedicated wig shampoo and
silicone wig sprays. You have to think of the synthetic fiber as delicate
nylons or lingerie. Some people say to rinse it in Downy: I haven't tried, and
frankly, would hesitate to do that to such expensive accessories. I saw how
even just hints of the wrong product can ruin the aspect and feel of the
fibers.

To wash it, I fill my bathroom sink with luke warm water and mix a little bit
of wig shampoo in the water. I brush the wig with a large comb and gently soak
it in the water, holding the top of the wig, laying it in the filled sink and
pulling it out sideways, repeating a few times. The trick is to always move all
the hair in the same direction, delicately. Then I repeat the same operation in
clear water in order to rinse. I pat dry the wig by gently wrapping it in a
high absorbancy micro-fiber towell (always in order to avoid any rubbing) and
hand it to dry on the floor of my bath tup, propped on the drying stand or a
tall family size shampoo bottle, having sprayed it generously with the silicone based spray. It literally dries like nylon, and all you have to do is brush it once with the comb.

I wash my wigs after about 7-8 wears. You will see you need it, they get kind of stringy and piecy when they need a wash.

Bj1111, most people are fooled. If I say "Oh, I just like to change my hair
colour" (which is true), they buy it. But my close friends know by now I
play with wigs and hairpieces. I was nervous in the beginning, it was a major
factor against the whole thing. What I found out it that most people aren't
phased by this at all - or maybe my friends are all very good actors? It's like
telling them, "I wear a bra, you know".

Opaline, yes you may. You can measure your head circumference (front hairline through top of nape). 21 inches and less is petite. 22.5 inches and up is on the larger side. The wig has to feel a little like a swimming cap. It shouldn’t be loose. Beware that it’s not just the head size, but also the shape. With my synthetic wigs, I had to sew parts of the cap as my head is not as curved in the back. I’m 21.5 inches, but because of shape, regular size wigs tend to fall flat in the back creating an annoying lump. I found that by gently sewing together some wefts near the top together (can be undone) the fit was improved.

There are more ways to affix the wig and make it yours. Snapping combs sewn in, bobby pins (use the smaller, sturdier beauty supply shop version) and even glue.

This particular wig here, which is human hair, is so comfortable I will not need to adjust it. The cap, already tighter, has a silicone gel in it which is very nice. It’s like wearing a padded sneaker in comparison with my synthetic wigs which feel like ballerinas.

It’s always much better to try on because I have found that a “regular” wig is never one universal size. Some are smaller, some are bigger.

Adorable, and completely natural! I'm sure everyone who sees it will assume you've just cut and colored your hair. Fantastic that you found it at such a great price. As for the top--why not? I'm personally a bit tired of the bare shoulder trend (because I would never wear it) and thus prefer it with the jacket, but you're spreading your wings these days, so wear it your way with pleasure! Nothing "madamy" about it to my eye.

Krishnidoux, thank you so much for the info, much appreciated and very helpful.
I might pop up w/more questions if you don’t mind.

Keep rocking your wigs, you look awesome!

Thanks for the detailed info. on washing the wigs. Do the styles stay in place after washing then?

You look fab! And I agree with Janet that your new hair colour "somehow brings out your eyes more." I like your outfit too--those rich blue shades and the floral top looks great on you.

Absolutely fantastic, and 100% natural. And your smile shows that this makes you feel like a million bucks, which is priceless. I am so glad you found that shop! I am so glad this wig is way more comfortable, too.

I have to go back and look at the outfit now!

Thanks you guys!

Texstyle, yes, the synthetic hair comes right back and the style stays after it has been washed, as miraculous as it sounds, I'm aware. But it's true. I let the wet wig dry on its drying stand (or a tall shampoo bottle - Costco size - will do) and when I find it the next day, it almost looks like new. Some strands are stuck together but after I comb it with the wide teeth comb provided, the style is the same, the hair falls the same, only clean.

As for the natural hair shown in this post, I don't know yet. I'll post about it when I do.

Your new wig looks fabulous on you, and thanks for sharing all this fabulous information.

I missed this... WOW! I love it, fabulous colour on you.

Stunning on you!! Love both colour and hairstyle. You are doing a great service by sharing all this information, too.

I am having so much fun watching you try new hair colors and styles! You look so pretty with that new hairstyle, and that outfit is so GOOD on you!
