New funky glasses? Yay or Nay?

Hi! I would love your opinions! What do you think of these glasses for me. They are WAY out of what I normally wear, but I wanted something fun for when I go to a concert (classical usually) or out somewhere. My family (we are not an exciting bunch!) think they are a bit out there. I need your opinions. Thanks!

Well the first thing I saw was your beautiful blue eyes, which is a good sign. Hard to say out of context with your entire style, but I like them.

I rather like the invisible edge at the bottom and your eyes seemed pretty well-centered in the lenses. They’re a strong statement, but not so far out there as all that. I am, tho, trying to decide how much I like the visual heaviness of the upper frames.

I like the shape a lot, and the color tone.
But I di find the asymmetrical , but prominent alternating dark/ light tortoise pattern, combined with the invisible lower edge, a little disruptive and distracting— in a different way than say, a statement color. It’s like my eye is trying to make sense of it.
But, sometimes these things work out differently in motion, in different lighting, because glasses themselves— with real lenses— have changeable qualities.

I was expecting an unusual color or shape.

They might be a little heavy, which might just look "strong" in person, but the color is great.

Actually they seem like a remarkably good compromise between fun and traditional because the missing piece of frame looks almost like the way of the future.

I love them! Now I want a pair, but I couldn’t justify it because I always wear my contacts. I don’t think they’re too wild, as tortoiseshell is very classic.

I like the vibe. Great tortoiseshell!

But the shape is too deep in vertical height. Your brows are coming through the lenses. Brows should be positioned above specs or in line with the frames. Maybe you need to push the frames down your nose a little? Make sure they are in the right spot, though.

Now I'm wondering if the "brows ..coming through the lenses" is the reason they look heavy somehow, rather than the thickness of the frame.

I love the idea of these, and I don't think they're too "out there" at all, but my reaction was the same as Angie's. They seem a little too big in the lens from top to bottom. I didn't know the rule about where the eyebrows should be, so I learned something today!
