New denim skirt - YouLookFab Forum

I'm sorry that I've been away again, but there was so much to do that I didn't have the time. I had to finish my paper and then someone who's dear to me had a miscarriage last week.

I wanted to show you the denim pencil skirt I bought today. What do you think? It would be a replacement for my current denim skirt, because that one doesn't fit right. I love how I look in it from the front, but I'm not completely sure about the look from behind. The fit is great, though. Keep or return?

I'm a little annoyed with all the things in the stores right now. I looked for maybe four hours today, and I saw almost nothing I really liked. And if I like something, it's guaranteed to have a bad fit, color or pattern. I really have problems to find something and I'm frustrated because the weather is getting warmer and I'm still lacking some spring and summer items I wanted to buy. I'm already looking since february and I feel like I have no energy to keep looking....

Is it from Gap by any chance? I think I got myself the same, for the exact same reason as you.
It looks very cool on you. And I love how you dressed it up.
If it's the gap one, I can tell you I don't regret having kept mine. It is useful and looks good with flat boots too.

krishnidoux, it's from Esprit. We have no Gap around here. But you're right, I can see the skirt with my boots!

I actually think the back looks great! (Of course, I say this with a little friendly envy, as I have absolutely no rear end.)

The skirt is a great fit, enough to show your shape, but not so tight that it pulls anywhere. Nice find! Sometimes I get frustrated with the stores too, perhaps online browsing would help? You can get a feel of what stores have before you visit, this may help you target stores to visit during a shopping trip.

Lisa, I did a lot of online browsing in the last four or five months and often went to stores to try some specific things I saw on the net. I didn't buy any of these things. There was always a difference between browsing and looking at it in real life and sadly most of the time the cut simply wasn't for me, so the things didn't fit me. Especially dresses and pants/shorts. Shirts are normally no problem, but blouses are tricky. And skirts are at the moment either too short/long or simply too tight/loose in some places.

Astrid, I may have to disagree with the others. In the front, it looks like it is pulling to me at the top three buttons. I don't know if it is just the way you are standing, or maybe the skirt just needs to be pulled straight a little or something, but as I see it in the photo the spaces between those top three buttons appear to be stretching/pulling/have gaps.
