I have just made an update that changes some aspects of the way profile pictures are handled. Part of the change is about improving performance, but there are two other implications I want to point out.

First, the default profile picture is no longer the little gray and white one that we used before (Angie calls it the "snowman"). Instead we have created a set of default profile pictures that will get assigned to new members.

Second, we are dropping support for gravatars. If you don't know what this is, then it doesn't impact you. If you were using a gravatar, then please take a moment to upload your profile picture directly to YLF. You will find that option in your profile page. Apologies for the inconvenience, but given the performance impact and our inability to moderate their content directly, it didn't make sense to continue support for gravatars.
