Thanks Vani!
Susan, that was a first-thing-in-the-morning photo - no make-up, eek! *And* I am battling a cold. So I'm surprised and quite flattered you say that! Maybe the new color is helping?
As for what I do, I'm also 44. I think a lot of it is just simple lucky genetics. I take after my dad, who has always looked a lot younger than his age, and even now at 69 has very few wrinkles, mostly fine ones, nothing deep, despite never wearing sunscreen and always being outside in the sun and smoking for decades. I smoked since I was 13 - quit only a few years ago. I am surprised the smoking didn't take a worse toll. I also had quite a few nasty sunburns in my youth. But, I have worn sunscreen on my face religiously since around age 23. Not on my chest - which is where you can really see my age.
Otherwise, my skin routine is very simple:
1) I use plain old ordinary soup to wash my face: alternating between a glycerin soap and an antibacterial (Lever). I have always just used soap, despite all the warnings against it. I don't use a washcloth - I tend to think they are abrasive.
3) Apply moisturizer - twice a day. (Morning, Night)
4) Apply foundation (also with suncreen) sparingly where needed.
5) Use a gentle exfoliant scrub every so often (more frequently in winter, when my skin gets dry and flakey). (I like Oil of Olay brand, but I read the tiny beads are harmful to the environment, so I'll be switching as soon as this tube is used up).
For years and years, Oil of Olay was my moisturizer of choice. Since hitting my 40s, I've needed something richer. I've tried a lot of different things. I highly recommend the OoO 14-day treatment: it made a noticeable difference. But it's only for 14 days, not a daily moisturizer:

But recently I discovered Lancome Reenergie and I'm completely SOLD!

It's pricey but worth EVERY last penny...
It's actually intended for older skin (50s-60s and on up) with deep wrinkles. But I'm absolutely loving it. It does leave my face brighter, and you can't see any of the fine wrinkles anymore. It feels fantastic on the skin too. Right now, I'm just using the daily moisturizer, but I would also recommend the nighttime cream if you have the $ to spare. It's a bit too rich for me for warm weather - I will be using it again when the winter starts to dry out my skin.
They have a whole system - I got it for DH last xmas. But I just don't have the patience to apply eye cream, serum, neck cream, etc etc... too much fuss!
If you try the Lancome, take before and after photos! I wish I had. I am wanting to try their foundation next.
