On the weekend I went shopping specifically for a nice cropped winter coat - well, this is what I found!

(This is it with just the bottom button done up).

LOVE the polka dots, LOVE the short length (its perfect for me), LOVE the fabric composition (just a touch of wool for enough warmth), LOVE the buttons (they actually match my watch!), LOVE the whole vibe of it!!! The only thing that was every so slightly less than perfect was the 3/4 sleeves - but for daytime use (which is its primary purpose), I'm totally ok with compromising on that - just hopefully it doesn't look to silly with the l/s top underneath!

I was hesitant to try on a swing style shapeless coat, but as soon as I put it on it felt 100% right. Just goes to show that you really do need to try new things on!!!

Also in this pic is my new handbag - it was a $50 bag with a $15 sale price on it, but when I went to pay the SA said it was supposed to be $25, but she would honour the tag YIPPEEEE!!!! Just a fairly plain flat tote, but again, just what I was looking for.

I've worn the coat about 4 times now and have received so many compliments so I'm very very happy with it.

Aussies the coat is actually a Forever New coat - we've only had them up here for a few months, and I've never bought anything from there before but am very pleased I went in.

Very nice coat Theresa! Polka dot is just adorable!
You can try to wear longer gloves with it - you know, elbow length. I think they look very stylish with this type of sleeve.

Fun polka dots! Luv it. I think the 3/4 sleeves will be great with contrasting colored long sleeves in yellow, green, orange, pink, peach, or brown (I'm basing this from what I think is a navy colored jacket, right?). It might look great with a subtle striped pattern as well.

I also agree with trying elbow length gloves in faux or real leather with a pencil skirt and heels. Yum!

It would also look cute with a full, knee-length skirt, boots and beret. So many possibilities! : )

Fab finds. Is it cool enough for gloves in Aus I have a cropped sleeve swing coat and I wear longer length gloves with it when cold, the shorter sleeves show of the ruched edges of my gloves perfectly x

Love it Theresa! I'm another fan of elbow sleeves. Don't know anything about being a MOTG but I know they work a lot better for my lifestyle than long sleeves do so thumbs up from me!!!

Even just looking at it makes me happy, so I'm very happy with my purchase And of course, I do love my watch and bag too LOL Actually, since YLF I've been loving everything I buy rather than just "making do with"!!

Tam its a good length for me because I can wash hands a million times a day without having to pull the sleeves up or get them drenched LOL I can see it being a good length for your occupation too...

Karen & Laura the red nails are my birthday mani!! I should take another pic of them because it was a different kind of polish that gets set between each coat and it doesn't budge until its taken off - so its still perfect and not at all chipped!!

Louise & Sveta I can see it with gloves!! Prob not often because its not quite that cold, but I could see me wearing it to the Winter Race Day next year with some little gloves on...

AJ its actually black & white, but all of your suggestions are still awesome and I have a feeling I will be utilising a number of them!

I was actually sad this morning when I put on a dress that it just plain wont work with so I could wear my new coat LOL

Fabulous coat, bag and watch! The polka dots are just such fun. You could wear it under a heavier coat in cold weather as part of your outfit for the day..
