hi guys!

as it's been a while since we've had a challenge, i thought i'd start another one... assuming you guys are interested, of course :).

this time, i wanted us to think outside the box in terms of drawing inspiration -- and to see how something that inspires us in one way, can inspire someone else in totally different ways! so this is the "picture perfect" challenge. if you're interested, here's how it will work:

- this challenge will take place over the course of a work week (perhaps the week after next, as this weekend is a long weekend?). THE NIGHT BEFORE EACH WORK DAY i will post a picture from flickr's "interesting things" calendar:

http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/2009/08/

these photos are uploaded daily and i will put up that picture no matter what it is; this means i will not be selecting photos that especially appeal to me or anything like that. it will be as much of a surprise to me as it is to you!

- your challenge will be to draw inspiration from the photo to come up with an outfit for the next day! post it in the thread where i posted the original photo.

what is this supposed to teach us? we've all fallen into ruts with our wardrobes where it can seem impossible to create fresh, new combinations -- especially if you're on a tight budget and can't afford to splash out money on new things. this challenge should help train our eyes to draw inspiration from sources that aren't necessarily fashion-y, and force us to reevaluate our wardrobes and come up with fresh outfits. and plus, it's always fun to see what others see when they're looking at the exact same thing!

so? anybody game? i'll be doing it anyway, so you're welcome to just offer your much-appreciated feedback, but i'd love it if anyone else wanted to participate
