New Boots?

These were a Christmas gift, but one I picked out. I have winter boots for the outdoors, but don't have a pair of "fashion" boots. My building is cold so I wear pants all winter (I kneel a lot too) but it is chilly enough that in regular shoes the ankle area gets cold on me even with tall socks when I wear my regular shoes after changing out of snow boots.

I thought these were cute. They are by Miz Mooz and are a Chelsea boot style. The leather is super soft, and the soles are all rubber, which is perfect for me.

I put a 3/4 orthotic in them and they are pretty darn comfy.

I like the somewhat masculine vibe mixed with the red!

Ooooh, I really like them, and they look like they fit really well at the ankle too! AND you can put in an orthtotic!!!

In the pics they look like a warmer soft red so they could be more versatile and closer to a neutral. I think they look good and the ankle fit is a bonus.

Awesome! I'm really leaning toward keeping them as I'm liking them so far.

Lyn-- I am happy about the ankle fit, figured I might even be able to pull them off with black tights if I need to. I looked at several other styles of chelsea boot, but was concerned about them being wide in the ankles and forefoot.

Angie, your own sweet words mean a lot to me. Luckily my life is settling back into a more normal schedule, so I hope to be around much more. I love how you have a such a pin on my style even when sometimes I feel like I'm wavering myself.

Ceit and Dianthus-- I'm not too concerned about the red. Currently my wardrobe is mostly neutral, and all my bottoms are neutrals-- the warm dark red is one of the colors I love and wear but I don't have much of it. I recently bought a pair of dark burgundy euro sneakers and get lots of compliments on them, and they go with everything in my wardrobe IMO (color wise, obviously I am not wearing them with my cocktail dresses). All my other shoes are neutrals.

I bought these in the Brandy (brown) color last year and I. Love. Them. Very, very comfortable, I can walk in them for hours and they are so easy to put on and take off – I think you're going to love them too and I'll be looking forward to how you style them.

Those are fabulous for you, Elly! So exciting! What a fun purchase. I got my first coloured booties this fall, too, and I really adore them. I wear them far more than I expected. They are as comfy as slippers.

I'm a sucker for any Chelsea style. These are such winners.

Suz-- thanks for chiming in, I appreciate your way with words as always. Never had a pair of colored booties but I do think they will get worn often. Colored shoes rarely cause issues for me, although my light olive green pair isn't my favorite (I picked them up for warm weather, but they don't bookend well with my dark hair-- plus I picked a kinda ugly clog style without thinking about the fact the light color would stick out against my jeans and pants).

These look nice and appear to fill an important wardrobe gap, so I say you did well. Seems Miz Mooz boots are getting pretty popular these days...I got some olive green ones myself last month, but I have lighter hair (it's dark blonde and goes well with greens). I'm so glad we're able to find fun styles and colors in comfy, walkable soles. When I go into the city, I want walkable!

Glad that your life has settled down Elly, that you're happy with your man, and that we'll see you here more often. Great start to the new year. I should have clarified why the booties were so "you":

you love orange, so this orange tone of red is spot on
you like a "controlled rugged distressing" with the right amount of tailoring, and these fit the bill
