New belt (K/R) + question about shorts

Here's the belt I bought today. It wasn't really a sensible purchase because I have things I need more at the moment, but I really like it. Should I keep it? Plus point would be that my only other belt that I can wear with pants is a plain dark brown one.

(And please don't look at my frizzy ends, I need that new haircut ASAP!)

And what do you think about the fit of these shorts? Are they alright? Or do they look frumptastic?

Plus bonus pic of what I wore today with my new shoes! They are great. I forgot to take a picture without the jacket, but I'm wearing my b&w striped tee underneath.

Very cute belt and even though you need other things also, if you are a "tucker" than having a few nice belts is important. The shorts look nice! I like your new shoes and I hope they are comfy! They look great with your last outft!

Thanks Meredith. You're right, a few nice belts are important because I like to tuck. Good to hear you think the shorts look nice, I was a bit unsure about them. They are my only shorts at the moment. And the new shoes are very comfortable - they're great!

Thanks Shannon! I thought it was a nice way to get a bit of boho into my look. I still love it but my new things aren't that boho so far. I think I'll have to search for some items with that kind of look.

I need some shorts also. I think I will try for some walk shorts that are either right at or below the knee or clam diggers? Are they the same thing?

Belt and short both look great! It's a beautiful belt, and you do need a light one if you like to use them. I would keep. I very much like the emerald scarf paired with this striped tee, too.

I love the belt.Acessories are also important.
The shorts look ok but i am not a good judge of shorts.

Meredith, I think clamdiggers are tight? And shorts have a wider leg? But don't ask me, I'm not the expert with English words.

Thanks Celia. I'm always forgetting about accessories, same with shoes. I'll have to pay more attention to details! I'm never shure about shorts (or pants in general) either.

Thanks Kirti. I remember I was so glad when I found these shorts because I'm really not wearing anything shorter with my legs and I wanted a pair. But longer lengths were rather absent from the stores. I hope you're lucky with your search!

Fun belt, Astrid! I really like it and it suits your style. The shorts are perfect. I like how they fall straight down at the knee as opposed to tapering. I think they are great on you. They look preppy and current to my eye. LOVE what you are wearing today. The scarf pulls the whole outfit together and the new oxfords are to die for--perfect bookending. You look awesome!

Thanks Kelly. I think the straight not tapered legs are really the most flattering on me when the length is over the knee. And thanks for complimenting the outfit I wore today, I felt really good in it!

I think you are right about the difference between clam digers and longer knee length shorts. I will probably try on both to see which suits me. I like the idea of denim clam diggers but will have to see. I forgot to mention that I really like your green scarf with the striped top!

Astrid, that belt is SWEET! I can see why you brought that home, and I think you should keep 'er!

And the shorts are lovely fit as well. Another keeper!

Love your scarf in that last outfit, by the way --- I like that it shows specks of the tan you have in your shoes and bag (which go together so well, and with your beautiful hair!), and also how well the red and green compliment your own lovely colouring. Sehr modisch, for sure, with the striped T to pattern mix!
