Gingko, Jenni, thank you!

Brooklyn, glad to know your summer closet is working well for you. No surprise, considering the thought you put into it!

The dark velvet top is perhaps moodier than my usual, yes. It replaces/ upgrades a plain navy velvet top, though, so is not too far out of the ballpark, apart from the print, which is indeed a change. The lilac is more an outgrowth-extension. I've been slowly building a lilac capsule, which also works with my blues, whites, and burgundies. Some of these "lilacs" are closer to pinks, but they work together tonally, for the most part. I've also been adding to my true reds. Just expanding the blue/white/silver palette a bit!

It's sort of hard to tell from the photos, but these items all include some lilac or lilac-adjacent colour, like very cool pink (or in the case of the burgundies, work extremely well with lilac). They cross seasons, some are summer items and some are fall/winter/early spring.

Oh wow, I love everything about this! The texture play, pattern, colors are perfect. YLF! And happy (belated) birthday to your kiddo!

That velvet blouse is a real showstopper and I’ll bet you already have lots of outfits in mind for those lilac trousers. Your wardrobe is so smart, functional and beautiful. I remember that burgundy coat from back in the day and it still looks really, really good. The color is sumptuous and works so well with the rest of your wardrobe — this is how it’s done!
