New Animal Print Cardis!

I just bought two adorable cardis at JCP yesterday - both the brown and gray. Yes, I do have an addiction to animal print! These sweaters are SO cute belted OR unbuttoned and look fab with skinny jeans and pencil skirts. I like the length and how they are slightly fitted. The cotton fabric is fine gauge and very soft. Excellent quality.

Nice! I'd style them the same way you would: belted with pencil skirts/skinny pants and flats.:)

I would do some colorful flats, skinny jeans, a white top and a big flower pin.

The gray would look good with a colbalt blue color. I have a gray leopard scarf and I tried it this way before:

The brown version would look great with either a mid-tone pink or a teal blue.

Hey Beth! I tried them on yesterday in a BUNCH of combinations. I like red patent flats and wide brown belt with the brown print and teal suede flats and wide black belt with the gray print. Bright color-coordinated tee or tank underneath. I will wear them with turtlenecks when it gets cold.

But there is one constant: SKINNY JEANS. I love them! Dark blue with the brown print and black with the gray print.

As a challenge, it might be fun to mix the animal print with another print or a textured fabric, maybe pin stripes or a low contrast microcheck as a start. Maybe one of those faux fur vests over them when it gets cold?
It's fall now, but for spring, you might try them with cream or white pants or pencil skirt. The grey one might also work over a sleeveless LBD if the cardi is short enough or belted.

It would also be cute buttoned all the way up as a shirt under a military anorak with jeans and oxfords. Add a leather belt and some vintage brooches for pizazz.

Joy, you read my mind! I tried the gray one on with black micro-check pants and bright red tee and loved the mix.

chewy, I'm on the hunt for the perfect military-esque jacket now. And I would have to wear a tee or cami under it, though, because the V is quite deep. Maybe a tonal camo cami would be fun with the military vibe.

Wow, some great ideas. I got a cardi like that this spring. I have worn it once with a brown tank and brown pants and am planning to wear it again tonight (I am out of town for work, with a sleeveless turtleneck, jeans, flats and a turquise bead necklace. Wish I would have read this thread before I packed, I am getting some great new ideas.

halfpass, I love turquoise beads with the brown print! I craft wire and bead jewelry and plan to make a choker-style turquoise nugget necklace especially to go with this sweater. Your outfit sounds perfect!

I use red with my brown one - also green (not at the same time as red). i have also worn a denim jacket over it. For my grey one, I keep it monochromatic with other whites and blacks and red shoes.

Sihaya, I like the idea of the denim jacket over the brown print sweater. I LOVE red, brown and denim together. I don't wear white next to my face (washes me out), so I will wear the gray print with a rich teal top and black skinny jeans. I do like the idea of the gray sweater with gray jeans - I have both dark and light washes. Red shoes are fab with gray AND brown.

Adorable cardigans! I, too, have an animal print obsession (in fact, I may start a thread asking for animal print limits in an outfit. . .)

I like all the color combination ideas and need to go revisit my closet to see if I can be more creative than just tonal.

jonesy, Count me in as a lover of animal print. A thread is a great idea - go for it!

MNsara, my limit is ONE animal print garment or accessory as the focal point. Too much is overkill. Literally.

It's weird, I never wore animal print until I lived in Europe, where EVERYONE seemed to tastefully wear leopard print. Not only in Milan, London or Paris, but in tiny Alpen villages as well! My new favorite: leopard print tights! I plan to wear them with a knee-length, fitted Banana Republic dark denim dress that I recently scored at a local consignment shop.
