Most of my never-worn pieces are either: transitional weather or dressier-than-my-real-life pieces. Off the top of my head, they are:
- 4 blazers (1 velvet, 1 jacquard, 1 black, 1 sparkly) I don't leave the house often enough to reach for them, and don't feel right wearing them at home.
- 2 dresses (1 mock neck midi sweaterdress; 1 long sleeve jersey maxi dress) too much fabric for summer, not enough heft for winter.
- 8 skirts (4 satin, 1 taffeta-ish, 1 grey wool blend, 1 poly dot, 1 midi corduroy) I just can't figure out how to wear these so they are comfortable. I put them on, twirl around, then take them right back off again...
- 3 trousers (grey plaid; black; olive) I COULD wear them with t's and sneakers, I just bypass them every day.
- 4 coats/jackets (1 non water-resistant trench that's too short, 1 olive chore jacket that's a near-dupe for one I do wear, 2 teddy coats that I am not brave enough to wear)
- 5 shoes (black OTK boots, 1 loafer, 3 pumps) I suspect the heels on these are what turns me away from them.
- 2 long cardigans - I bought them and the silhouette fell out of favor.
All purchased within the last 2-2.5 years. I suspect it's because I bought dressier and transitional items out of habit - I knew I didn't feel like I had enough to wear, but I didn't know what to add that was correct for my lifestyle and climate. I'm a work in progress
