I am not a warm color person generally, except that I do like reds and to some extent orange (the latter more aesthetically than in my wardrobe).
I don't like earth tones beyond olive. And I never wore yellow because my skin is already on the sallow side.

Well, color me surprised (ha), but the recent spate of warm colors at retail has encouraged me to buy some things a bit outside my wheelhouse.

1. Rust red jeans- these really read more like pumpkin in real life than rust. I wore them yesterday and mentally called them my "Mary Tyler Moore pants." I'd been looking for wide cropped pants or jeans and these fit me the best. NB: Though I did the team wear thing, I suspect these really will need to be cropped a couple of inches and are on my pile to take to the tailor.

2. A yellow (!!!) shirt with new J Crew skirt. I got this to go with my orange skirt (see finds). It's a bit more yellow in person than I'd expected, more goldenrod. I guess I can wear goldenrod. It's a cheery color and coordinates well with this skirt, too. Angie said skirts count in the challenge, so here we go.

3. Not shown - I got this very casual Lucky Brand striped top for high summer casual wear (NOT work). Will probably pair well with the jeans.

All these things work with navy. I have plenty of navy, so I'm not too worried about orphans. I don't plan to add anymore items like this right now, as these were definitely wildcards, but they're nice additions.
