I said I'd never do yellow again and banned yellow from my closet about 10 years ago. Well, never say never....

The Jcrew brocade shoes have been my gateway. I thought it'd be my nod to the trend, in a safe accessory far from my face. But suddenly I find myself obsessed with yellow. I have added this top and this beret.

... as well as a floral top from AE which is not currently online, but is sort of more of an orange. Another color I never wear!

It has to be the right shade. I do best with murky tones so maybe that's why mustard works? All I know is I bought the anthro top to see if it'd go with the shoes, and it reminded me of being 13 again; when I was that age I had a favorite yellow tee shirt. Then I put the beret on my head and had to buy it.

shiny, that's interesting, I also recently had a change of heart towards yellow and I'm totally loving it. I've added sweaters and tops and can't get enough of them. It's gotten to a point that I censor myself for fear that people at work will begin to think of me as the woman who only wears yellow!

On the "never say never"... When I joined the forum in 2013 I listed "high waistlines" as one of the things I didn't like at all and would never wear. Now I'm loving higher waistlines, and I'm increasingly disliking low rises. My list of "never say nevers" also includes skinnies, tapered legs, culottes...

PS. the beret and the tee are beautiful! Love those yellows!!!!

K.m., I totally want a yellow sweater but for some reason all the sweaters I try don't work, though the tees do. I am not sure why that is. Maybe cotton reads "crisper" than a fuzzy sweater?

My Fall wardrobe is still predominately neutrals, so I'm not too concerned with yellow taking over my closet just yet. But these dang shoes seem to have me building up a capsule with pink, yellow, camel. Maybe it's my hair, as it grows out and silvers, that has me craving these lighter--- and warmer -- colors.

I've been waiting for high rises to come back in style for ages!! But high rise for me is mid-rise for others! I am stocking up.

Not a bad idea, Shiny. Yellow is trending at the S/S shows for next year. So, investments made for this F/W appear like they will have some longevity.

I have never done yellow but I can see it on you. And you can have bookending shoes and hat. Just saying.

Im into yellow these days too! The texture of things does make a difference how the color appears. It seems to me that chunky, and conversely shiny textures appear darker because they cast shadows. Its a theory im exploring!

I so can understand! I always loved a yellow bag and shoes for a pop of color on my neutral outfits (more than a red pop for sure!) but I don't have any of the two at the moment. Just tried a rich fallish yellow maxi coat/cardi but feel too much(as a bigger amount of) or bright(?) on me for a matter so will sadly return!

Shiny, I too have been feeling the appeal of yellow which is a colour I have NEVER worn - well only once with black and got called a bumble bee... I like bees, so that is not really an issue but I think I will wear yellow with navy instead.

shiny, my two yellow sweaters are soft and smooth--one is a stretchy linen-type blend, very silky; the other is a cotton cardi with white polka-dots. Maybe that helps keep them sleek and crisp. However, now you've planted the idea of a fuzzy yellow one. I think I would like it!
