Neutrals - I'll play!

WIW to my grandpa's 89th birthday party:

JCrew striped grey/offwhite tee
AT LOFT dark grey knit vest with faux fur collar
GAP grey bootcuts
Black heeled boots from DSW
Pearl necklace

Do you think these neutrals suit me? Brown has never felt/looked right to me, but I am not sure if my beloved dark grey is quite the thing, either. Part of the problem could be the bad lighting here...

All comments, tips, and criticisms more than welcome.

I think the outfit looks great. Having said that, I don't think that brown is the best for your coloring. Its actually a hard color to wear. I think if you wear grey, you should pair it up with a brighter color. for example, maybe put a brighter color under the vest? I'm sure there will be ladies who will disagree with me but I'm not a huge fan of wearing everything in a neutral tones. I think little color is always needed whether its a clothing item or accesory. I hope I didn't offend:(

I do like grey as a neutral for you.This outfit is very sophisticate.
I find brown as a neutral difficult ti feel sophisticated, for me it seems always very earthy.But I know others have a diferent opinion.
Have you tried navy blue as a neutral?

I think that brown is a lovely color. I DO usually like it teamed with something sort of coppery or orange. That is a VERY interesting vest you are wearing! Looks good!

Becky, this is really cute! I love the vest, and I think the charcoal is really good on you. I think it's just your lighting. If you don't feel fab in brown, skip it or just use it in shoes and accessories. Congrats to your dear Gramps! What a happy occasion!

Dear Victoria, you in no way offended me! I can always use encouragement to bring out my bright colors. Monochromatic looks will always have a special space in my heart too, though!

Glad to hear the charcoal looks okay, Claire, Nakidra, et al. I have enjoyed this vest, but it's already getting pretty pilly and saggy after one winter, unfortunately. Maybe I'll reuse the collar in a new vest next year.

Great outfit! (Happy 89th, Grandpa Cobaltblue woo!) I really like the sweater, if the collar is in good shape I'm sure you can reuse it. Sorry I can't comment on the color, but I will keep it in mind when I see future WIWs from you.
