If there are any fans of The Voice out there....my 16 year old nephew is one of the contestants this season. We are all so excited for him but as we are not a "show-biz" family the whole thing seems a little surreal.
Riley auditioned on a whim when the production team was in Chicago early this spring and they loved him. He was brought out to LA for further auditions and then was asked to compete in the Blind Auditions (which just finished airing). He had two coaches turn their chairs for him and he chose Adam Levine.
Riley's genre is a little different from the rest of the competition - he is an old style crooner and a huge fan of Frank Sinatra's music. His second round will be aired tonight. He is singing with, and competing against, Natasha Bure to keep his spot on the team.
Until this season no one in our family has ever watched The Voice (or really much of any reality tv). We're finding it much more entertaining and much "nicer" than American Idol.
Anyway...if anyone is interested...help me cheer on Riley!
