Needing help with a gift idea

I need to get a little something for my SIL but she is a completely different body type than I am. She is in her late 60's, about 5'7" tall with a full busted curvy plus size figure and narrow shoulders. She wears mostly wide trousers with big loose buttondown shirts over a knit top and loafers. I'm thinking of this cardigan:

Will this look flattering on her body type? I'm thinking that's it's not terribly far off from her big shirts yet may hang nicely so as to not look so boxy. Opinions needed ASAP to take advantage of the sale. Yay = buy it; Nay = look for something else
Other suggestions are welcome too. She wears a 2X or a 20

I voted yay--it looks like a step up from the button-downs she currently wears, but the silhouette should be similar so as to not be too jarring to her. And if she hates it, it's always returnable when it comes from Nordstrom! What color are you getting?

Steph, I wasn't sure but am leaning toward black. She will probably think it's slimming and she likes to wear black and white. The marlin blue might also be good because she has blue eyes. I've never seen her wear jeans, but she usually has black, khaki and white pants and I think a black and white tweed or herringbone.

I like this cardigan! Safe choice. Another idea (similar to what she currently wears) is a Foxcroft shirt. These are really popular with plus size women in her age range.

There are a few on sale. I like the polka dot one!

i think this is a great choice considering her body type and style. i love the coral color but have to go with what will be flattering on her.

I vote yay. I wore a similar black tab-sleeve cardigan all spring long. I think it's a great gift and a great way to add a bit of polish to any casual wardrobe. What a sweet SIL you are!

Thank you for your help on this! Marianna, I think she'd like those shirts very much if they have a collar like the first (gold) shirt. She is very picky about collars and has trouble with how some lay over her bust.
