Need your ideas...

Hubby's holiday office party has a fun theme this year: Casino Royal Soiree. The dress code is "Bond, James Bond cocktail attire."

That's all the details I have for now. The party will be in early December. Do you think that means we should go costumey or more refined?

Either way, I would luv to hear your ideas. Inspiration links if you have them. I'm hoping this will be more fun than stressful.

Since it is a work party the safe way to go is the serious cocktail attire as shown in the 2006 movie. (1)
Or you could have fun with it and go 60s to evoke the 1967 movie (2) which would be more costumey.
The last look (3) might not be office appropriate but maybe an idea for a Halloween costume?

I have been to a Bond themed wedding (I actually planned the wedding because it was supposed to be MY wedding but my fiancé had a change of heart and married someone else but wanted to use my wedding theme and plans because he still liked them which was ODD) - but I think cocktail attire is more appropriate than really costumey :3

In case you want to go costumey... (how fun) ... more inspiration. Apparently there was a 1954 TV show too!
Check out the last picture which was the Ian Flemming paperback book cover. I think that's a cool inspiration right there, and you could make it un-costumey too.

Lyn, wow! That was so kind of you to let your ex steal the theme. Although if I was the bride, I would have felt weird using the ex fiance's wedding ideas.

But seriously, though, I vote to go with the cocktail dress a la the 2006 movie. Cuz Casino Royale is in the title of the theme.

I would go with a very classy/classic cocktail dress look. Something sleek with a bit of sheen and beautiful but simple jewellery. I love the costume looks but don't know that it would be appropriate for an office event.
