Need Styling help: Added photos using suggestions

I have a new dress from Gudrjn Sojden and would like some input on styling it. Here are two ways I tried. I pinned the dress 2 1/2 inches shorter in one version. and tried it will an orange top and pale NB sneakers and in another version I styled it with with no top and teal Docs. My questions are whether the shorter and longer version works best, which shoes look best, and what other suggestions would you think would look better. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I took the hem down and tried a few of the suggested fixes. Photos 3 and 4 are new with jeans and sandals. Now I'll be ready for cool and warm spring and summer days.

I think with the leggings l prefer the shorter length but if you were wearing it bare legged with wooden clogs in warmer weather l think the longer length would look nice,so that’s helpful isn’t it!Doyou have a preference?

Much prefer the longer length. Shortening it interferes with the impact of the design and makes it look more ordinary, even a little childish.

I agree with Cardiff Girl. Speaking for myself, I'd probably be using this in warmer temps with no leggings and I would wear the longer version with sandals; I'd also scrunch the sleeves for added structure.

I think longer also. I’ll bet that with “ movement “, the longer length isn’t overwhelming. I can see how shorter seems more like tunic/ lengthy for leggings, but it’s not as good for the dress style.

I think it will influence footwear- I’m sure I will prefer softer, lighter colors. But could include neutral leathers— tans, cream, softened browns.

I also like it longer. Will it be for summer too? I'd like to see it with lighter footwear and maybe sandals. it is a fun dress and doesn't really need a lot of styling, in my opinion.

I prefer the longer length!

Do you have white pants or jeans? Try the dress over those. Of these options, I like the leggings with the sneakers, and orange tee.

As Suz suggested, try the dress on its own with sandals at the longer length too!

Great dress--it has a "farmers' market" vibe. As in, when the Sunday scene is Farmers Market, that's the type of thing to wear to it.

So summery--I'd pair with sandals. A casual bag, like straw, slung over your shoulders. If wearing it in winter, I'd put black tights and combat style boots underneath.

This dress is fab on you, Bonnie--great colors and style. I like the lighter sneakers with it and the longer length. The teal Docs are great with it, too, though. I like the idea of trying white jeans with it, or lighter-wash blue ones. I think you could put a denim jacket over it, too, if you need warmth. I think it will be fab in summer weather, with sandals and the sleeves rolled up.

Thanks for the help and keep them coming, please. I will definitely try some of these soon. I live where the summers are cool (60F) and foggy and I plan to wear it in summer for the style and colors while still being able to keep warm. When I occasionally go inland where it is 20+F degrees warmer, I'll wear sandals.

Is this the same company as that other tunic/dress you got? Because they’re both great on you. I much prefer the lighter shoes. They bookend your hair. The dark shoes look random. I don’t have an opinion on length.

If wearing the dark docs I would be tempted to wear a dark top underneath. Or a dark bag?

But I do like these soft colours near your face -so pretty!!

I also vote longer and lighter shoes but I somehow understand the trepidation esp with your cold summers as wearing with leggings looks better the shorter length. Does the dress have slits to sides? If yes, I'm sure the longer length will not overwhelm you in life and motion.

I always try to give my opinion before reading the other comments, so here goes:
I like the longer length, either shoe but I think I would prefer the sneakers. I like the orange top if you’re wearing it with leggings. The longer length looks more current in style, the shorter length looks more like a tunic and less like a dress. I also think this would look great in the summer with sandals and no top underneath.

This dress will look wonderful with sandals in summer, and I don’t mind the shorter length or colour but I’d also likely pair this with a light slip-on shoe or ballet flat instead of a sneaker, this fabric reads a bit light and delicate to me.

Great dress! Most of my thoughts have already been mentioned. I prefer the sneakers and don’t love the docs combined with the same colour leggings and no ankle/leg showing. But I do think you should play around with the docs and some socks and see if that works - because I think the shoes themselves could be cute with the dress.
