Third ETA: Sticking with the Patagonia Storm 10 in Small as the XS seemed too tight at the bottom and would feel constricting overall if layered. Many thanks for your input over these past few weeks. xo

Second ETA: Added my bike helmet to the jacket and immediately I felt the Patagonia has a better feel and fit for the occasion and I had a puffer vest underneath the jacket FWIW. Still have to get to REI for one additional look.

ETA: Well, the Patagonia and The North Face jackets arrived and I’m not sure how I’m feeling about them or if I should visit an REI store and start over again. Perhaps, this is telling me that I am not used to this type of outerwear and how it is supposed to look and feel.

Frankly, they feel somewhat large on me, boxy and crinkly stiff IYKWIM and not very fashionable, lol. Having said that, the size may be needed, because I want to put a puffer vest underneath. These are smalls. Attaching photos of both the Patagonia Storm 10 and the Antora from The North Face. I think my other major concern is it doesn’t feel like these jackets would actually keep me warm and the jacket must not take up space and be packable.

Original post: My friend and I are going on a one-week bike tour in the Netherlands in mid-April (will post separately and OT about a possible YLF Meetup if any of you live in the area and/or Belgium as we plan to be there for a few days, as well).  The tour leader said a "waterproof" jacket is essential.  I have looked online at three and only read the reviews so I have not tried them on or seen them IRL.  One is from The North Face and the other two are from Patagonia, the Patagonia Houdini mentioned in a YouTube video about how to pack for ten days using a carry-on, which I am going to try to do.

I'm inclined to look at TNF Antora or the Patagonia Storm 10, because these are actually waterproof and would keep me warm in case of wind or inclement weather.  The Houdini seems more like a windbreaker. I think I am in between an extra small and a small, so I’m learning toward getting a small in case I want to layer with a puffer vest.  Do any of you have recommendations or do you have knowledge and experience with these three:

FWIW, I've included a photo of the padded bike shorts I bought.  They are the Montcham padded bike shorts from Club Ride Apparel and the reviews were excellent.  I'm also showing the suggested packing list sent to me.  Now, I have to start taking few short bike rides around the neighborhood, because I haven't been on a bike in a few years.  Thank you for your help with the jackets.
