Thanks everyone. It is funny - I already have a small wardrobe and still don't manage to think of every possible combination. I think I tend to stay in the tracks even in my mind. And with the weather I hadn't worn the skirt for three months or so.

Elizabeth, I probably wouldn't try it again. Returns are a bit of a hassle and I'm sure there are other lovely things out there. That skirt had its chance twice now.

I love the outfit you ended up with. The earrings are very pretty and dramatic with your short hair. I think I usually go for necklaces because it's hard to see earrings through my hair.

Thanks Sara! And I agree, the short hair is perfect for big earrings. The designer actually helped me pick and the first pair she suggested was even bigger, a kind of cluster and climbing up the ears a bit. It looked fierce, unfortunately they were way too expensive for me. But I love these. She had a good eye, I could have bought all of the ones she gave me to try. But I think these are a good size, noticeable but not too big for my features and not too heavy.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you all like the earrings. I think wearing them makes it special, they will make me feel as if I'm wearing a brand new outfit. I will probably run some errands tomorrow and might have time to have another look for a replacement top. And I had my hair cut this evening, I always love it when it's short like this...
