Need help with Black Pumps - YouLookFab Forum

Yes I have tons of shoes, but I realized I need to refresh my basic black pumps. Of course what I've found are not so basic, but might work as well? My criteria are that they are black, under 2.5" heel, no ankle straps, no sling backs, no peep toes. I wear a 10 normally, but 10.5 in pointy or designer brands. Not a wide, but cannot wear narrow brands. For consideration I've already purchased and/or tried on these:

Super cool, and they fit nicely but is the hair creepy? When I cross my legs will I feel like something crawled on me? I got them for an amazing price ($35) but not 100% sure I should not keep looking

Black with silver toes and heels - also like the reptile with gold metal (perfect heel height, very pointy and I sized up to 11 for perfect fit-usually EA are too narrow and these were not) Also at a good price at local Lord & Taylor. Is metal toe too much for my office? Hmmmm... Is it already over?

Any advice?

I remember reading how Adrienne from http://www.therichlifeonabudget.com raved about her Calvin Klein Dolly pumps. Search her blog, I believe she got them from Zappos.

I would think the Topshop ones would be uber-useful, very appropriate for all situations. I too am not sure aobut the metal on the EA ones - I personally am not a big fan but it just depends on how daring you want to be. There are a lot of them out there, too - if you're still looking for the perfect pair, go to Zappos, go nuts, and then return the ones that don't work.

#1 are pretty darn cool. Definitely not conventional or conservative, but also not too bad expense wise. I'd keep 'em for fun.

#2 are fashion forward while still being conservative. Not ultra conservative, but fairly so. I'd think they'd be pretty easy to wear, except in a bank.

I adore the calfhair! But then.. I have a pair of black calfhair pumps myself, and women of all ages always stop me to gush over them, like I've got baby bunnies on my feet or something.

I also really love the Casiano, but I know myself too well - I would have those pretty silver toes all scratched up three steps out the door.

Ooooohhhhhh.... loving the Dolly! And you can get them in suede!

I like number one a lot as they are a bit different and the texture adds interest. I may be applying archaic thinking here- to me they don't seem like a shoe I would gravitate to in hot summers. They would be a 3 season shoe for me. I like the texture juxtaposed with the classic shape and to me, they would be a worthwhile purchase if comfortable.

The other one's seem more all season and also quite on trend now. If you are looking for a pump that is classic to keep for a longer time, I would seek out other kinds of details that are a little less specific to this year and last. They are certainly appropriate for many purposes and could add a bit of sparkle and fun if you like the metal.

There are so many good looking pumps out there and it often comes down to comfort. Good luck with your search.

I have a pair Calvin Klein kitten heel pointy toe pumps in black - super comfy. I also have Cole Haan kitten heel pointy toe pumps in taupe (they are available in flat black and patent black leather) - even more comfy than the Calvin Klein. I would recommend trying both if possible. I find the Cole Haan to be slightly wider in the toe box which is a wee bit more comfy.

Gosh, if they're comfy and you can afford them, I'd say keep them both. (isn't that size hard to find?) I can see the first pr looking really cool w/ jeans and other things, too. I don't see the silver toe cap as trendy, just chic!

I love the calf hair! I think it'd great added texture and not creepy at all!
And the heel height is nice.

I would prefer to see the silver on just the toe of the second pair. I'm not crazy about it on the heel.

I choose number 2. This black pumps designed using contrastive black and white colors, contrastive colors is this year fashion element for shoes and dresses. I just like the design that classical black and white color can be used perfect for this pumps.
