need help styling dress for courthouse wedding! :)

Hi there! I just stumbled upon this site and I am so glad I did!

I'm getting married in 3 days at the courthouse. I ordered two gorgeous dresses and they arrived... however I must have lost a lot of weight because they are huge on me. I ran all over town looking for a new dress, and found one that looked pretty on me, so I grabbed it. Now I am having a heck of a time figuring out what pantyhose and shoes to wear!

I am unsure of how to post a photo.. but the dress is by "Pins and Needles" from Urban Outfitters, it is their sweetheart lace dress. (http://www.urbanoutfitters.com.....d=25391327) I bought a really pretty mint/diamond/gold necklace and some mint/diamond earrings that have an art deco look to them. i want to be soft, feminine, and retro. my hair will be styled in 40s curls.

Can anyone help me out? I am open to anything. Was thinking opaque black tights and black heels, but I'm not sure about the stark black with the delicate lace dress. I am stumped.. my brain is fried. I need help!

Hi a, and welcome to YLF! To be able to post photos to the site, you have to be an active member for a couple of weeks, and you have to write posts, replies etc first to gain the rights to post photos. Meanwhile, you can link to another site, like flickr for instance.

The dress is lovely! For a wedding, I would not recommend black tights and heels with this delicate style. Do you have any light colored shoes? I think nude hose and light shoes/sandals/peep toes would be best. If you go for black, you should balance it out with a black topper of some kind, but that might not be dressy enough for the occasion. Good luck with the wedding!

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I think I was hoping someone would snap me out of the black option, as it was leaving me feeling unsettled. I will go shopping tomorrow and look for some light colored heels, I'm just nervous the color will be off and look funny.

I'm assuming you got the cream colored or white dress. You could either go with nude fishnets http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/no.....sultback=0

or something way more dramatic like this (which has aspects of your black tights but not as heavy against the delicate dress) http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/dk.....sultback=0

As for shoes -- yes those elopement pumps are gorgeous! As an inexpensive alternative, how about something super simple like these:

You are so sweet to respond! Happy to help. I like those last tights too. If you want them you might be advised to act quickly (call customer service and tell them it's for your wedding). They could help you locate them or ship them to you.

Sometimes with Nordstrom sale items I've waited a few days and then poof, my item was gone.

Oh, nuts! They aren't available anywhere near me. Well, at least I can shop around and maybe find something similar.

Upon reading your post, I immediately thought nude/sheer patterned tights with a blush pink/nude pair of fun pumps. I like the idea of mixing very delicate patterns in the same color scheme, and I love the two nude tights posted earlier!
