Need help on my quest for turtlenecks

I have a couple of turtlenecks but I am not happy with the quality of them so I am on the lookout for new ones. The problem I have is that majority of t-necks out there are too short for this tall gal. I was getting them 1 size up but then they are not fitted enough and neck is too big - not ideal.
Anybody knows good sources for long t-necks of a reasonable quality and prices?

I was going to suggest Lands End, but they only make a mock neck in tall.

I walked by a Long Tall Sally store today and wondered why my SIL doesn't check out their jeans (she has a 35-36 inseam). So, I wonder what their turtlenecks are like. . .

I looked online and they DO carry turtlenecks and they're not inexpensive, so maybe they are decent quality?

Also are you looking for lighterweight, layerable turtlenecks? Or are you looking for wear alone as a top turtlenecks?

Sara, I am looking or layerable ones but they should be not see-through because I want to wear them alone as well. I saw new t-necks in LTS catalog and I am going to check them out but I did not like what they had last seasons

I'm on the lookout as well, Sveta. I'm not super tall, but I'm long waisted, and many of the tops in the stores are slightly short for me. I'll let you know what I find, and watch your posts for your discoveries!

Sveta I wa going to suggest LTS. My sister is 6ft and she buys from them (online) and has a lot of success, particularly with pants and jackets.

LTS can be all over the place with sizing when it comes to knitwear, I have things ranging from XS - yes, that is Xtra Small - to L. Tailoring is more predictable size-wise.

I always get mine from the GAP. The quality is hit or miss but I tend to replace my heavy worn knits every winter.

I got some great tissue turtlenecks at the Gap many years ago and wish they'd bring them back... but that's not helpful.

Land's End makes 'em thick and I feel they fade fast (for that preppy look). Also not helpful.

Target's seem pretty long - I like them long to prevent drafts. Also got a nice one at Nordstrom at the NAS sale.

Angie usually has a good quality basic that she brings to our attention each year. A couple of years ago it was a turtle neck from Express. They are very nice and long but I don't see any yet on their site. Last fall her pick was from AT. I've had Land's End and Eddie Bauer in the past but they fade quickly. It may be early yet this season to find them. I also suspect that cowl necks may be replacing turtles as the basic.

Sveta: like April, I also go to Eddie Bauer for my basics. They tend towards ribbed knits (more casual) and thicker cotton (a plus or a minus, depending on how you plan to wear), but they last and last and last.
