Need help: Does this jean fit

This is my second post here. I have been following this blog for almost a month and trying to implement things i learnt here. These blue jeans were on sale at kohls. I have a large waist in proportion to my rest of the body. In other words, I have a tummy :). I am not able to decide if jeans are supposed to be like in the pic for my body type. Please tell me if this is a good fit. I want to return it if it does not pass here. Sorry for the hazy pics though. They are with my cell. i think they look good and you are one of the special people that can pull off flap pockets. Do they feel comfortable? Are they digging into the waist?

Thanks for the quick reply maya, they dont dig in. Actually they are very comfy. The material is very stretchy. I did read some where that we can wear flap pockets if the hips are small. However am not sure if that is appropriate for a 27 yr old.

I hope so, Reshma, since I have some flap pockets and I am... a lot older than you! I think the idea is to stay away from them if you're trying to minimize the booty area, but if you need a little more curvature there, flaps are fine.

Now that I've said that, I hope someone will correct me if it's a known rule that flaps are for the kids...

I've always heard that flap pockets are bad for people with big booties! Flaps are good if you have a smaller bottom and want to add some volume. I think the jeans look good on you and I have to ask you: Where's the tummy you're talking about? I don't see a tummy!

Flap pockets are good for smaller/flatter/less prominent bums and I think they are fine at any age as long as your butt doesn't mind them.

MarianaCecile: Its my habit to try holding back so the tummy is not very obvious. But you can see the slightt bulge in #3, #10, #11. My narrowest part of waist is 28 and around my navel its 33. It may not be as big as i think it is, but i am always a bit unhappy with the fact that in proportion to my rest of the body it is still a tad big. I will try to post a picture which shows my true tummy later :).
