Need help - does it look OK?

I am considering to wear my linen shirt-dress to work tomorrow and was looking through the options. I wanted to wear it with my denim vest but I did not like how collars compete with each other. I decided that I need a collarless vest for this dress - and then I remembered my Nicole Miller leopard vest...
So what do you think - is it passable or downright wrong?

In my opinion - this is MORE than passable - it is GREAT! Love it! Also, your hair is just FAB.

I love how the collars - complement - each other! I don't think this is a bad look at all; your colourful vest definitely enhances the dress!

IMO vest is OK, but not a 10, something about it looks dated to me, I'm not sure what. I will let others judge that.

Sveta, I love your hair! The dress is fab but something about the vest over it is looking like a waitress outfit to my eye. How does the dress look on its own?

I like the dress but I'm not sure about this particular vest with it.

I think it's the lapel on the dress that is making Alaskagirl think of a waitress.

Something about the dress & vest brings to mind the late 80's early 90's. Or the mum on Home Improvement for some reason. Can't explain that one.

I do, however, love your hair.

I like the outfit in theory but I feel the waistcoat is a bit dated x

i love the dress on you.. but not sure abt the vest. may be try some solid colour or add a scarf to add some colour..

Thank you all for your feedback. As I was not sure about the look in the first place (hence the post :-)) and it received such divided opinions I have decided not to go with it.
I guess I am struggling how to make this dress work for me: I cannot layer a jacket or cardigan over it because of the sleeves and I need to wear a belt with it because it has a seam between the top and the skirt...
Maybe it is time to pass it on?

Could we see the dress without the vest? I think that a nice wider belt that would cover the seam would show off your tiny waist.

I really like the vest/waistcoat with this dress as a layer. The print itself, I'm on the fence, it looks a tad dated and does not fit with your current style. How about a new vest in a solid?

I think you could wear each piece separately with more current pieces. I think it's the combination of two retro items that makes it feel dated. What about a wide statement belt with the dress?

I love how you've paired the shoes with the dress. They jump off one another to add zing. The haircut is so lovely I'm wishing for straight hair...

Won't comment on combo as you've decided against it.

I like the creative mix and it is figure-flattering, but something about it is not a 10 for me. I also feel something here is dated, but can't put my finger on it.
